Re: MPG from your cliosport 197
Checked today, I have got an avg of 30.4 mpg over the last 8,000 miles. I dont flaw it everywhere but i dont drive slow either. mainly town and city driving with occasional motorway use.
Hi dawn
I cant say I blame you for wanting a 197 over the 1.2 lol especially as your last 197 was lovely :approve:
But I do think that maybe the twingo 133 cup may be a good choice. It will have the fun factor when compared to the 1.2 it looks gr8 imo and will be much cheaper to insure and tax...
I use bilberry, its the best cleaner iv used, especially good when you consider the fact its not acid.
As said above clean you wheels properly/thoroughly with a good wheel cleaner, dry, and apply a few coats of sealent wax and they will be easy to clean every week. Saves loads on buying wheel...
evo paint is usually very soft, but all cars are different.
Be careful cos paint correction can easily cause holograms on Evo paint.
I Have a swirly black evo booked in 3 weeks time so i'll post on how it went
Cheers mate.
My paintwork is still in pretty good condition so not much paint correction has been needed tbh. I've only used Menz 85RD on mine with a sealent and wax. But on most clio 197's Menz 3.02 or 203s is enough to correct with the right pad. But somecars are more difficult than others...
if you have clay you will need a lubricant spray like megs quick detailer (might be in the kit tho)
Only machine polishing will remove swirls and scratches, so I would recommend poorboys glaze (either black hole or diamond white) to help hide any swirls etc after the polish. Then apply the...
one day detail minus the wax application to save on cost. She paid £150 which was nearly as much as she paid for the car. Engine is good on the old ford tho... previous owner 85 years old, full service history with ford, and 70k miles....not bad ;)
The interior was pretty bad too. Everything was dirty and grubby as the previous owner had hardly cleaned the car. Carpets, dash, mats, seats, and door sills were very dirty:
After aquick clean with G101 and AG interior shampoo and AG fast glass it tidied up nicely:
New owner was...
So after a wash with PH neutral snow foam and gold class and dry it was out with the G220.
Picture below shows (a poor...sorry) 50/50 shot off the bonnet after one pass with menzerna RD3.02 but this was not enough as can be seen :dapprove:
Eventually after a few tests with various polish...
Got asked to do some work on a 1996 ford fiesta which I was told needed a few scratches taking out and a quick clean.
The girl who had just bought the car had only bought it for a few hundred pounds and didnt want to spend too much getting it looking right so I said id give it a quick clean...
If you press the lock symbol twice it unlocks the doors?? i did this in the car park last week!
I cant check cos I have the key on me...so obviously it opens anyway lol
I could prob find this out by reading the manual properly but im just too lazy :).....
When I lock my car with the key card it locks and assumingly sets the alarm (indicators flash).
When I press it again (indicators flash 2 or 3 times and it sounds like it locks again).
In my old MG ZR...
This has been a very informative post (ableit the petty arguing lol).
I may need that flash ECU upgrade as my 2007 R27 has all the symptoms of the original ecu probs....
jumpy and lacks instant power when engine is cold. May get it booked in soon.
I was told by the dealer that all 197's do...
