Could be time for new shocks. Nik and me were talking about this as i was complaining about the car starting to be really sketchy at higher speeds, he said his was the same as it got older and might need the rear shocks changing (he thought it would make more sense to change his for a Trophy...
The problem is the stiffer suspension and the mounts being made of gouda. Power bush or the equivolent should make a package that solve all the niggly little mounts and bushes.
The extra 15hp is just to compensate for the weight, why would you release a new car to directly compete in performance terms with its supposed big brother? It seems to be intentionally slow, but it handles and stops better with more torque lower down.
Given that the millionbillion fuel threads on here always turn out with 50% of people running the 1*2 on 95ron, even though the fillercap says 98, it would suggest 50% of 2nd hand 197's are going to be f*cked then.
Could do with an extra 30bhp with its feltz like weight to be an improvement over the 182. Handling was great, steering wasnt as bad and the idle/relays were quiet.
Give it a few thousand miles of hard driving and it'll sound like a lifelong smoker coughing its lungs up.

My last 12/24k service there was £110. lol. You're better off buying Oil in bulk from someone like total butler and getting an ITG filter. £65 for 64lts of Elf Exhelium and £30 for an ITG seems to have all ready saved me £150ish.
I hate it, lurching everywhere for 5 minutes. You get used to it though, its worse when running the car on 95ron.
Cant imagine what it must have been like for Oms on 91ron.
