    Tricky 172 cup

Yeah, same. Small changes in the road surface plus a bit of rain plus a change of direction equals finger-shaped dents in the steering wheel and an inch of seat drawn into the sphincter.

    Clio 200 F4Rt + German Autobahn =

    Lol Nice try.

    53 plate Clio always a cup ??

My 172 Cup is an '04 plate. Hang on, that's not really relevant...

    iOS6 - iPhone 4 lost 3G

Mine used to lose all the mobile Internet settings when I updated the OS but that was on an O2 simplicity contract thingy. I had to change the settings from mobile to wap, etc., manually.

    Eibach Sportline Appreciation thread (182's)

I've just binned the sportlines that the previous owner fitted to my 172 cup and refitted the original springs. As far as I'm able to ascertain the steering response is better and the handling is less crashy. I also found the rear to be a bit flighty with the sportline setup and more prone to...

    Declaration

Most insurers are lying, robbing sods anyway. When my current insurer decided to inflate the compulsory excess for theft on my motorbike they told me that it was because of my postcode. A quick check on www.ukcrimestats.com showed a massive 4 reported vehicle crimes within a mile of my home over...

Involved in hit and run incident.

From your description of the accident, I'm guessing he was uninsured or disqualified because I'd have been claiming against you if I were him otherwise. I have to echo others above and say that parting it out and moving on is the way forward. It will be a money pit and it will never be quite the...

just got some quotes for mods on insurance..

Guy I worked with fitted the factory option sill plates and front fog lights in his otherwise boggo Nissan Almera and, being a stickler for the rules, phoned Admiral to tell them about the "modifications". They returned his premium and cancelled the cover. True story.

No one would buy the RS Megs then though.

    resprayed?

Yeah, appears to be Liquid Yellow. Not a cheap paint.

    Just bought a 172

Get some Superleggeras then. Shedding unsprung mass is the easiest way to gain performance.

    Just bought a 172

I wouldn't do anything yet. Enjoy it stock for awhile first so you get a good feeling for any gains your mods may or may not make.

    Getting coilovers fitted tomrorow

Get on a flat car park and hold the wheel central. If it doesn't wander left or right then it's not the tracking. Given that it goes with the road camber/surface then it's more likely just tramlining because of the tread pattern or iffy tyre profiles. What size wheels are you running? This sort...

Used a dab of toothpaste to polish the worst of the crazing from the edge of the headlights.

    Cup Font

Fair point, I'll take a look at doing it that way.

    Cup Font

I'm looking at manufacturing some custom wheel centres with the cup logo moulded into them. I really only need the 3 letters but, by extension, I need the whole font I guess. I have access to the RENAULT font, as was used in the old F1 logo, but it doesn't appear to be based on that.

    Number plates

With motorbikes, as long as the font is legal size and spacing and the border is correct then the overall size is irrelevant. So, if you have a number plate with fewer characters, or a lot of 1s, I'm not sure there'd be a problem with making it shorter.

    Cup Font

Any typographers here able to hazard a decent guess which font is used for the "Cup" logo on the door frames of the 172 Cup?

    What's the consensus on these?

Not on my iPad... Fwiw, grey is better but I prefer contrast. Which is why I'm so tempted to get my Superleggeras recoloured for my iceberg cup.

    What's the consensus on these?

Black wheels for a black car? Not my cup of tea. Other than that they look nice enough. What's the weight like?

    Meganes?

I had an R26 for 5 years and, tyres aside, I never had to replace a thing.

Ferrari F430 Replica Kit. Massive facepalm.

Weren't the Pugs FWD too? At least the MR2 355 kit went on a mid-engined, RWD motor.

    advice please

Gotta say, mine's never particularly refined on tickover, hot or cold, but then neither was my R26 and that was for 5 years from new.

    Banbury/Oxford/Northamptonshire members unite...

I'm not a million miles off Banbury. Some of you may have noticed my previous RS in the area, a black R26 with F1 number plate as there weren't that many around when I had it. Now I have a slightly more humble 172 cup in Iceberg Silver.
