About 120 quid last time I bought some - nothing to stop you running the old tyres at the back, but it won't be fun in the wet and you could get caught by a bit of surprise oversteer!
Surely there's some good local NZ options??
Matt
Plenty of tall drivers around - I'm 6'5" (big feet too!) and fitted in my 182 ok - plenty of head/knee room etc. Driving position wasn't ideal (bit hunched over) and my back hurt for a couple of weeks at first but you get used to it!
Alternatives are to get a 182 with Recaro option (a bit...
There are some RHD phase 2's in NZ (they were ~NZ$60k to order only) - I'm still thinking about importing a Trophy, looking at approx NZ$5k for shipping/rego plus 12.5% GST - not sure on Oz import duty though?
Matt
6'5" and never really got used to the high position in my std 182 - Trophy's Recaros were better, but still could do with being another inch or so lower. Think next time I would just get some aftermarket ones fitted...

I used to live in Cononley (still got a house there), bought my old 182 from Nicholas Smiths too!
I think I know that black V6 mentioned too - lives on the roadside in Carleton most of the time.

I think they'll hold up pretty well for the short-term; I was quoted £12.6k for a new one in September, changed my mind at the time and now can't get one (pre-reg/new) for under £13.6k.

I'm emigrating to NZ next month - planning to get a Scooby or equivalent though - as Clio's (and most European cars) are just too expensive; if you look at http://www.renaultgalerie.com/ you'll get the idea!! (£11k for a 2003 172 eek!!)
Matt
If you havent signed anything with a date on you should be ok - but if you cancel they will keep your deposit and *could* sue for any losses on top (e.g. if they then sold the car to someone else for £12k, they could sue you for £1k) - a VW dealer near me did it recently (and got lots of...
Depends on the driver IMO - being tall I tend to wear the outside of the pedals quite quickly - my current steed has 10k miles on it, and the clutch/brake pedal are both pretty worn!
If the service history stacks up id be ok with it
Yeah prices are pretty good on here, and the cars have often been well looked after - I would do a HPI and check warranty/service history.
You can always search through their posts too!!
you should be able to get parts from the Renault dealers out there (see dealers at http://www.renault.com.auwww.renault.com.au) - although there arent that many, and you may have a wait for some uncommon parts to come from Europe. There are some V6s out there - its in single figures I think, so...
Im emigrating to NZ soon and considered taking a Trophy with me :).
To ship your own will cost anywhere from £500 to £2000 depending upon who you use (e.g. if youre taking a container with your stuff in anyway, you could also fit a car in free) - although you do need to factor in the costs for...
Very similar driving experience for them all tbh - iirc target price for a new cupped 182 should be ~£12k, 182 Cup ~£11k, and Trophy £12.6k
Id be tempted to get a good 172
Matt
Sounds good - maybe thats why the dealers are so desperate to do me a cracking deal on a Trophy (one of the sales guys I spoke to at Reg Vardy said they havent sold half as many as they were expecting!)
