Mine rattles like a mofo too - rear parcel shelf, air vent on dash and most annoying of all, the trim on the drivers door sounds like one of homerjays runner beans is in there!
Bloody great big crack straight up the middle after a stone hit it - thrown up from the opposite side of a dual carriageway. Kept the stone as a momento cos it cost me £50... (It was wedged in the wiper arm!)
The glass looks brown even through the non-UVd window at the bottom of the screen...
Hi all.
Ive just had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass. The glass theyve replaced it with looks like its a brown tint. They are adamant that the screen is the correct one and have said the Clio doesnt have green glass. However, Im sure the 182 (and possibly the 172?) has green glass - the...
Theres a couple of references to adjusting the height of the drivers seat in the above posts. Does anyone know how to do this? I didnt even know it was possible...

Councils have insurance for stuff like this - I claimed off WMDC and dealt with their insurance company, Zurich Insurance. It doesnt come out of the Councils budget (but I guess their insurance premiums may go up a bit!?).
You need to write to the Highways dept and include photos. Theyll send...
Thanks for the info. Guess Ill have to start believing the dealers (then again...)
Its a bugger though - Ive got a few stone chips which need doing before they go rusty... :(

Went to the dealer today to get a Black Gold Touch up paint stick. When the parts guy looked on the computer, there were none available. Apparently, Renault have yet to supply the dealers with this colour touch-up paint...
Is this true or has anyone managed to get one yet???
They do say Va....ll swear word on the steering wheel unfortunately...
Id rather have the the 111R Elise or Exige 2 (then I cant get taken out by the yanks in their Apaches :D)...
That green (blue) on the Renault site looks minging - why not call it bogie green instead? Cant imagine anyone would want a 182 in that colour!
Do the olscrewdriver trick... Pop the bonnet, stick the screwdriver on a part of the engine you think is ticking, stick yer lug (thats ear to you southerners) on the end of the screwdriver... Move the screwdriver around until youve found it.
My 182 is also a bit rattly but I assumed they all...
Miles: 1400 - running in nicely.
Hate rattly seats/runners, acceleration under 5k, torque steer + all the above hates (+double hate the drift especially under braking)
Love the looks, gizmos + all the above likes (especially over 5k+). The cup spoiler+wheels and twin exhaust really do make...
Harratts Renault in Wakefield had a silver one a few weeks ago - dunno if its still there or not. Itd been in the showroom a while (a good few months). Might be worth giving them a call if youre from up north.
Well Ive tried starting the car with the auto light feature off over the last few days and guess what!? Starts first time, every time... :D Wierd!

Just had another thought - when I start the car up in the garage (like you), its dark so the stoopid auto lights come on. Could it be this that is causing it fail on first start up?
Im gonna try turning the auto thing off tomorrow morning before attempting a start and see if that makes any...
My 182 also doesnt usually start first thing in the morning. Again its kept in the garage and a second attempt gets it going no probs. I have noticed that if you keep the key turned, it will eventually start after about 6-10 seconds but its very lumpy for a second or two afterwards. Not too...
Apologies for the long reply but here goes... (and please, no crap driver replies )
Ive owned a variety of cars of the years including Vauxhalls, Citroens, etc (but never a Ford) and a Clio 1.4S - the handling on that was surprisingly good by the way. Excluding the Lotus, I still think...
Funny you should say that cos Ive just been looking through the pics of others 182s and my suspension seems to be way higher than others... Mmm...
Ive owned both an Elise and an Exige, tracked them numerous times. Both handled amazingly well. OK, with rear wheel drive they are in a different league to the 182 but I think I can safely say Ive driven communicative cars before... You cant get much more communicative than the Exige... :o)
I...
