Morning all,
The 1.2 clio we have seems to have a problem that has only started the past few days. When pulling away for the first time off the drive on the morning the rear wheels/brakes seem to be jammed on. When pulling away it feels as though the rear of the car lifts up, you can then hear...
hey guys needing some help, does anyone know if the caliper carriers are standard over the renault range and if so will discs and calipers etc be an easy swap over??? or will i have to convert the entire hubs (if possible?)

Tried to do a search but cant really come up with an answer, and I have a feeling that's because its going to be one of those hard to chase could be anything faults
however, the 182 brakes just don't feel very good, little bite to them, the car still stops still but they just don't 'feel' as...
I have been offered the use of some lovely big AP 4 pot brakes with alloy bells and big discs which if I can make them fit under a 15" wheel I will make some brackets to for them.
Question is - what master cylinder do people use with 4 pots or can I just use the cup one?
With my 205's I...
Hey guys, I need help, I want to swap my drum brakes on my clio to disc brakes, is it possible? And what stuff do I need? Do I need to do new cables and everything ? Help please
Hello. This is probably a really stupid question. I pulled off the drive this morning and my brake pedal were rock hard. Then half way to work they suddenly became very spongey and will slow me down but no good if i needed to suddenly stop. There is no warning lights etc on the dash though. Just...
Car failed its MOT today, need discs and pads all round, Do i stick to genuine Renault discs or is there a recommended brand that does the job well?
Not sure what pad I'm going to run yet, as i would like to do a bit of track time next year...

Can anyone tell me if it is a straight swap to put rear discs/hubs from a MK3 GT onto a MK3 1.4 dynamique. I appreciate that I will also need to change the hand brake cables. Hopefully somebody has already done this conversion. Many thanks
bit of history....
I've got standard pads and discs on the front and back
I fitted a brand new rear brake compensator valve last week, fitted refurbed rear callipers from bigg red at the same time, also fitted new flexi brake hoses at the rear
bled the brakes with an eezee bleed kit...
Morning.
I have a Clio 200 and I suspect I may have a problem with the front (passenger side) brake calliper. Last week I noticed in slow moving traffic that when moving off it made a metallic noise. At speed today I noticed a similar noise coming from the passenger side.
Braking seems fine...
If I jack my Clio up and try and turn the wheel anti clockwise it's stiff as a board
When the Hand brake cable snapped a few months ago the car free wheeled a lot better
Any ideas what might be wrong
Cheers
Hi,
Im booked into a track day in 2 weekends time and im wondering about my brakes.
Ive purchased some 5.1 fluid and will be buying standard brake pads next week as a back up set (Ive heard they are fine for the odd track day)
without spending a ton of money and apart from running an air...
I have brembo pads and mintex discs on the rear and the rear wheels are caked in dust even more so than the fronts?
how can this be? as the braking is next to nothing on the rears
I am about 1500 miles into my rear brakes just wondered if brembo pads are known for lots of brake dust or not...
Probably been answered a million times but can't find the answer I need. Seen some mintex rear disks, pads and bearings for around £70 on eBay. Will these be as good as a chocolate tea pot or will they suffice.
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
My drivers side front brake is binding and catches once every revolution. Bit annoying tbh. I'm having some new calipers soon, will this fix my issue? If not, what else could it be?
Hi, someone may know how to sort this. I changed my front pads last night and brakes are good but when I start the car the Stop and brake light flashes dim on the desk for about 10 seconds and comes on and off when driving. All help greatly appreciated.
Cheers, ed
Hello all,
I have been searching and there seems to be a fair bit of information regarding what tyres suit what purpose.
Looking at this site, people tend to like the Toyo R888 but a few reasons why I'm not keen on them is, A) The hard to access now B) I wasn't over impressed with them on a...
My brakes are squealing like a b**ch at present, and have done since about the beginning of June.
Plenty of meat left on them. Brembo Discs up front with Feredo pads.
It's been washed several times so I doubt it's brake dust. It's also a bit sporadic in when it does it. Stops fine, no...
Right this is annoying me beyond my sanity..
I changed my front discs (1.4) around 3 months ago. This past month whenever I come to a slow break I get this serious loud, friggin annoying ass squeal! even with my windows shut I can still hear it! people turn heads sometimes too!
my question is...
Well alittle torn with what i want to get for the car as in front brakes.
Seen this package from K-Tec -
Cross Drilled Front Discs With Ultimax Pads for £118.00
But there is these from Godspeed -
Front Grooved Discs for £70.00 x 2 with no pads
Hi lads
Need to know the easiest and quickest way to bleed my brakes?
Cars at Efi beening mapped and Chris has says that there's no brakes at all and he's need to know so he's can get it done for me picking up the car next week
On the hunt for a 172 and ideally want my first upgrade to be bigger discs on the front, was thinking of using focus rs brembos as can pick sets up quite easily question is what disc size will fit behind the wheel?
Hi everyone, I have been looking up information on the above and found this forum. My girfriend's Clio needs the rear bearings replaced as it's beginning to sound like a spaceship. The brakes also need attention so while I'm there I'm going to change the drums and shoes. I've only been...
