There is a topic over on pistonheads about adding acetone to petrol.
Is there anyone on here who understands these chemicals and would it be safe to experiment with small amounts?
When I bought the CTR, I decided I was going to strip the clio and/or put the engine in a Mk1 shell. Over time I stripped bits, a mate need a coil pack and throttle body to diagnose some potential faults he had/has with his 182 so I duly obliged as the weather was crap and I wasn't really making...
Okay so my 182 has developed an issue which I imagine is to do with the fuel sender in one way or another!
when the petrol tank is full, the car works fine, perfect infact!
as soon as the petrol needle get one mark above the half way line (or below) the car gets jerky and loses power...
2005 Renault Clio 1.2 Authentique
my car has the digital fuel gauge as a-posed to the analogue one most of the clios have. I think I have a dodgy fuel related problem. My car can be a bit funny when reading what's in my tank, I have done 2 180 mile journeys on a full tank and it had registered...
Hi All,
Someone where I work has asked me this because I also own a Clio - but I have no idea....
Basically, they've been pretty silly and filled up their mk3, 1.2 turbo, Clio without turning the car off.
When they got back in, the fuel needle hadn't moved despite putting £20 in.
Now the...
When does your fuel light come on ?
I checked the range and then checked the self test on the car to check how many litres i had in the tank.
I would have thought my fuel light would have came on by now as i have been driving it for 2 days like this.
Noticed today that my fuel flap doesn't sit flush. Question is, should there be two rubber gromets or lugs that sit in the bit attached to the car? Wondered if mine had been pinched or fallen out? Anyone enlighten me? Would appreciate.
Noticed today that my 172 is very hesitant and does not pull as it should once i have less than quarter of a tank ?
But once over that much fuel its fine ? Can really feel it up hills feels like brake are sticking but there not.
Any ideas?
My mates car is turning over, there's fuel coming out of the fuel lines when disconnected but nothing coming out of the injectors.
He's taken off his Meg 225 injectors and tried his standard 172 ones, but still nothing.
Any ideas? Car is on bodies and standalone ECU and this is all new to us...
hi
im having problems with my fueling on my 182 turbo and ended up buying a new ph1 setup from a renault parts place and a high pressure walbro pump following most peoples advice. i was just wondering how and why the ph1 setup is better than the in-tank setup on the 182. just interested in what...
Ok, so all of a sudden on the way to a meeting this afternoon there's a MASSIVE smell of fuel in the cockpit. I'm driving behold some battered old Fiat so I figure that it's them... it gets so bad that I nearly tried to get them to pull over because there was clearly a fuel leak.
It was pretty...

Hi,
I have done a search but not found anything concrete so thought I'd ask.
I have an early Phase 1 which can only be described as 'running like the choke is out' and is overfuelling.
I have replaced the following:
Both O2 sensors
Crank sensor
Throttle body
All injectors
Air intact pressure...
Now this is the problem.....Mrs was driving to work, gets there does her day in the office, goes to leave work and the 172 wont start!
If I turn hesitate with the ignition and turn the key to position 2 everything works all ok lights cd player etc. Turn the key to start nothing
The fuel...

Im removing the AC with the PMS kit and also wanting to fit my matched inlets. I can get to all the bolts on the inlet so that can come off. I just don't want to petrol p*****g out everywhere. Or am I being a tard and...
Good afternoon
My Clio 172 ph2 has Megane 225 injectors which was brilliant when supercharged, however the supercharged has been removed and now it's running rich and over fuelling, the spec at the moment is as follow
-Decat
-Custom straight through
-Induction kit
-225 injectors
Are the 225...
Hi, been having a few idle problems with my clio 182, Very low idle speed and when driving feels like its running out of fuel when accelerating?
Pre-cat lamba appears to be ok (recently changed) and have checked all injectors which appear fine. Any ideas?
I just bought an aftermarket air intake from 172 phase 2 and want to install on my 172 phase 1.
Question is a phase 1 has a fuel return line as it is on my picture 1 and phase 2 has not (picture 2).
Should I consider to add the the regulator unit from the phase 1 rail to the phase 2 aftermarket...
Hi all,
This is first post and apologies if this has been asked already!
I bought my girlfriend a 'Y' reg Clio 172 (90000 miles) as a run around and the rev counter, speedo, fuel gauge and temp gauge dont work at all. There is a very slight flicker on the rev counter needle when you turn the...
hi all, I was wondering is someone would be kind enough to post a pic of the location of the fuel pipe that goes from the fuel filter to the rail please. thanks in advance, mark
Hi guys, for the last few months my clio 1.2 dynamique has been having issues with its power loss.
The emission light comes on for maybe a few days and then go off for a few days with no uniform pattern. During the whole time, the car occasionally loses power. The best way I can describe this...

Whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the bathroom throne I read an interesting article in auto express about Techron fuel additive. Now I normally think these things do very little as I have never noticed any difference after a bottle of redex. This one has had an independent test carried out...
Whats the best way to save fuel and get good MPG, for example changing gears below 2,000 rpm untill 5Th or going up the revs in lower gears till u reach ur driving speed then dump in 5th.?
I use neutral alot but still have a s**t MPG
Hey all need some advice,
Last night I changed all the fluids on my 182, I noticed that when I smelled the oil cap it smelled a bit like petrol. Is this normal and I just haven't noticed before? Or could it be a indication that something is up?
The car doesn't seem to be suffering with...
