How common are they to leak air? Got the full lot on order form Renault Wolverhampton , but is it the seals that f**k up in then or just age? i know it's got to be air making my dci die or hunt on idle as the fuel likes look Like an expresso

    Computerised fuel reading

Driving the GT home yesterday and the computer seemed to reset itself, I usually leave it on the fuel level screen, which went from reading 150 ish to zero. Checked the other screen and they had all reset, mpg was reading 49mpg (so I knew it had cocked up!). As i was driving the fuel gauge...

Fuel gauge pics...does this look too thirsty?

Filled up the tank and reset the clock, maybe revved it past 5k once, just normal driving. Looks a bit thirsty to me...i'm hoping the tank gets wider instead of narrower! Just over quarter of a tank after 90 miles Averaging 39.7MPG apparently And 353 miles to go!

    Fuel Gauge

Hi So for the last couple of days my fuel gauge has been acting a little erratic, took the car for a drive today and the gauge indicated I have at least a quarter of a tank left, 10min into the journey the fuel gauge is reading half of that, and by the time I park up on level ground the fuel...

172 Spluttering - Rich Fuel Smell - EML Light

As title suggests... Just went to collect the car from an 'exhaust' company as I know the OMP Group N was going to struggle on track. So I've had a new larger back box fitted to try and keep the noise down. Anyway upon collecting it I noticed the EML light kept on, I thought this is...

    Fuel lines, this is daft..

Wondering where the fuel line is and what it looks like, I know where the fuel rail is but just where the line comes from the tank into the engine. Funny thing is I'm going to crail this weekend and wanted a near empty tank so it was lighter, but my mum had a shot of my car and has filled it...

    Fuel vent/ carbon canister removal

Hi All I've finally got around to getting my 172 ready to go back on the road/track days. I pulled out the carbon canister to make room for brake ducts and got thinking that it would probably be a good idea to use some sort of fuel vent to let these fumes out. So I searched the forum and it...

Do Clilos perform worse with low fuel?

Let's say, there's one 'bar' left. About 15l left, does the car use fuel more efficiently to save the remainder of the fuel or does it continue to use fuel as normal? Only reason I ask is, when there's around 1 bar left, the car runs like crap and doesn't pull as good as usual.

    installing fuel rail advice plz

Very simple. I've replaced the lower inlet and have put the fuel rail back in but its not full of petrol since its been off the car. Do I just plug the fuel line back in and start the car and the air in the rail will get pushed clear. Or do I need to top the rail up first to get the air out...

Are dCi's really this good on fuel??

Did a trip from Nuneaton to hull today, 130miles or so in total, 80mph no cruise control. How the hell has it done 130miles on a digit and a tinny bit? Nearly every other dCi I've driven doesn't even do that lol
