1.6 16v with aircon : aux belt

Car  Rover 620ti, MK1 Valver
im getting a strange squeal when the engine is cold.. give it a rev and it dissapears.. but if u listen carefully something still sounds a bit squeaky. Iv stuck my head under the bonnet and it sounds like its comming from the altenator.. how likely is this with the engine at 55k miles?

belt appears to be tight. just a bit worried about tensioners snapping etc. when do these belts usually get changed?

its a phase 1.. not 100 % sure when it was last done

edit : im guessing its a front bumper off job?

nar its not a bumper off, just need to take the wheel off and move the arch liner out of the way. the sqeaking may be the tensioner which i always recommend changing. how many miles has the car done? if there are no records it may have never been done

the car is on 55k.. i will check the service book tomorrow to see when it was last done and post up!!

should have been done at 36k but some dealers and some garages wont change it or dont know the correct service intervals.

I have a fealing at its last service the altenator belt was changed but the one for the pas has not been changed ( it looks a bit more worn ).. im thinking the squeeky noise is commin from the tensioner for the pas aux belt. anyone know if its easy to change?.. best place to get parts?

cheers

the alternator belt is the same belt that drives the power steering and aircon compressor. i would only buy a genuine renault tensioner
