172/182 ECU mapping

I heard that the Ecu maps itself depending on how you drive the 1st 100 miles of the cars life. Therefore if you take it easy then the ecu maps itself to pansy mode and vise versa.

Has anybody heard of this, just wondered if its worth getting the Ecu reset once ive done my running in so i can remap it by giving it some beans!

just to clarify, as you disconnect the battery does the alarm then go into anti tamper and start sounding after a while?

its a classic innit :devilish:

Is this realy true? It seem hard to believe that the ECU word deliberately change the mapping because of the way the car was driven in the first 100 miles. Oh, no! My car was delivered by an old chap, so he did the first 100 miles for me! I notice that there is no mention of this in the owners handbook.
