172 glove box light flickers in the cold!

Feckin rattly ass b*****d french cars. i took the cart in last year for this problem, and they "sorted it".. hmm.

In cold 7 degrees this morning for example, the glove box light flickers on any acceleration. Obviously the plastic contracts a little in the cold.

Anyone else?! how did u sort? Argh!

Im guessing you have a 2001 model as the early facelifted Clios had a problem with the glovebox door - as it wasnt made properly the top right corner sticks out slightly and therefore doesnt press on the switch enough to keep the light off. The "fix" that Renault came up with was to drill a hole in the inside corner of the door and put a plastic plug in to push the switch in further, but that doesnt always work. On mine I had to get a new door fitted to solve the problem.

There was a technical service buletin from Renault about this problem, so your dealer should be aware of this.
