172 Oil change - how much oil

Can anyone confirm how much oil is needed to do a full oil change on a 172/Cup?

Mine was in the dealers today for a full oil and filter change - I supplied my own oil (5l) which they claimed wasnt enough and had to use some of their own. I was under the impression (perhaps mistakenly!) that it took around 4.75l?

Anyone know for sure?

Hmmmm - why doesnt this come as a surprise to me

Ill run this by them tomorrow - wouldnt put it past them to have kept my oil and used their own stuff - I asked them for the remaining 0.25l that should have been left after doing the change, which is when they came out with the "It took more than 5l" chat....

I have done two oil changes on my 172 and it takes the best part of 5l but no more.

Add a nother few hundred ml for the oil filter and to prime the galleys when it starts
