172cup accelermatron pedal

  172cup

On my 172 cup... the throttle pedal goes so far, and then stops... but if i press down further it gives another couple of inches.

My gfs extreme doesnt do this, and my mates 182 doesnt do it... so why mine?

I dont notice any difference really... its one of those things that your mind plays tricks with you, and you think its kicking in 200psi of nitrous lol

Anyone elses do this? And why?

hmmmm.... so what about the extreme on a 52 plate? (same as mine)

Is it actually doing anything then... or am i just stretching the cable?

Naaa m8....mk1 172 is cable.....mk2s are all FBW. There is a very small amount of extra movement but it doesnt do anything as far as Im aware

Ye I mean mk1s

You referring to the rubber bit under the accelerator pedal then.. someone mentioned once that it had something to do with cruise control.. dont know if that was true though.

  Clio Trophy

I sat in a New Clio Trophy in a dealer Showroom the other day and that did the same thing!!! Think its flat to the floor then it clicks down another Inch!

Would be nice if it did kick in some extra Va Va Voom!!!

  An orange one

i posted this topic ages ago after i got my cup, i was sure it made a difference..however..after driving a mates v6, it definately overrides the speed limiter function

The cup uses a throttle cable.

The 182 uses Fly-by-wire throttle.

uh huh.

Mk1 172 is throttle cable
Cup is FBW

the click is to disengage the cruise control / speed limiter on all the other RS models.
