182 rear damper failure

  Clio 182, Audi A3
My 15 month 15k 182 (non cup) had a rear damper fail around Christmas.
It was bottoming out, well before it should, with a hard bang. No oil leak though. Renault changed it under warranty.

Now 3 months and 4k further, the other one has failed, losing it's oil and rattling away. The dealer says Renault will pay for this one too, but only grudgingly as it's a 'service item and warranty doesn't normally cover these'.

Broken (not worn out) dampers at under 20k and 18 months are clearly faulty and not wear and tear. I've never had dampers fail on a newish car before.

Any other 182 owners had rear damper problems? And how have Renault responded?

Rear dampers are a constant problem.
If they fail under 60k I'd keep wanting them done for free as whilst there wear and tear its a manurfactuing fault if they don't last that long.

One of mine failed on my 182 at 18.5k, but I just left it and traded the car in with it dry.
