182 slides everywhere in the rain

  182, SQ7, Trafic
Dont give it the beans in the rain?? not worth it in the rain tbh.. nice calm driving in rain is the best way

So true. Thes road surface changes so much when wet, even over a mile, it could just be different. Oil could of been dropped there (which I'm seeing more and more often :() Its best just to take it easy in the wet and have your fun when the road is dry!

what are the r888's like?

Not too good in the wet from a recent magazine review I read. The Dunlop Direzza DZ03 is a lot better, even the lower spec Toyo R1R outperformed the R888 in the wet (but you can't buy the R1R in the UK from what I've previously heard.)

I don't know what the import taxes are like in the UK, but there are options like the Bridgestone RE11 which will out grip a PE2 easily. See here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=205%2F&ratio=45&diameter=16&x=81&y=7

I'm running them in 205/50R15 on my 182 Cup and they're amazing tyres. The 16" PE2's would wheelspin off the lights if floored whereas these really hold on. Cornering grip in the dry is also easily better. In the wet they haven't done anything wrong (and I did push them a bit last time it rained, but we haven't had much rain.)

For me, importing them worked out the same price as buying Toyo R1R's locally. A friend is running RE-11's on his 172 Ph1 and is also highly impressed with them.

There are some good reviews on this site on various brands that might be worth browsing: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/TireTestServlet?perfType=EP
