182 Yozza blowing?

  E46 M3 & UR Quattro
Sorry to hijack pal, but does anyone know if any other places can sleeve them or just Fred? Coz I live miles and miles away and Fred is too far away unfortunately, anyone know somewhere a bit closer to the South West that will do it?

Could K-Tec? They'd charge a bit though I think!

Try Josh at CookSport, I'm sure they would be able to help you and not too far either.

Here's my 182 cat. The end is yet to be shortened but gives you a rough idea

that looks very tidy!

If I were to buy a miltek decat (2.5"), chop the olive end of the centre section and then use a sleeve, would this work?

Dows anyone know if this would work in theory? It does in my head but I have no experience with exhausts. Thanks.

I'm sure the yozza decats have a slight angle on them coming from the flange off manifold to give a better fit.

Looks great mate!

You posted this earlier: "This s what I did on my new system from Fred. Cut the end off, flare it out and then use a milltek decat. I have a silenced decat but is the same size as the milltek one."

If I bought a miltek decat, and chopped the end of the centre section - would it be best to flare it out or by a sleeve joiner?

It's really doing my head in and not sure what to do.

Your best bet is to cut the end of your centre section off, take it to your local exhaust place and for a drink they will flare the end out to suit your Milltek decat. They should pop 4 slits/cuts into the end so you can then put an exhaust clamp round to grip the two together

I need to get my decat sleeved asap, it's burbling like made now, lol.

Thanks for the reply mate.

The miltek decat is quite a bit longer than standard decat/cat isn't it?

Like so:

I think I'd prefer to get a sleeve like this: jet_dbl_end_sleeve.jpg

Would this work in theory?

I know exactly how you feel, it sounds dreadful! I can't drive with the window open anymore its that bad.

You can cut it to whatever size you want though so length isn't an issue. The sleeve like you have pictured will work yes. Make sure you get a couple of good quality clamps

Nope, it's fine when under car and revving. Only does it when accelerating under load :(

Starting to think it could be induction related.

It's a tough one really. Get some leak detection fluid on the joints. Or washing up liquid with water, in a pot, apply with a brush and rev engine and watch for bubbles. I'm sure that might work?
