Engine mounts or top of shocks mod (butchery) needed.

Galvo panels should not rust.

Try £220 for my first.

Yeah...Reno are paying for the bits that are falling off.Just hope they fix it.Report will be posted next week....

they should do i had the exact same problem with mine at 12k miles on the cup under warenty same simptoms as yours, it was the mounts under the battery on the left, the engine/gearbox was sliding around, better to get it sorted or your Gb will fall out eventually.. dont worry if its under warenty. since then mine has been ok.

Did you shop around? Between my first call to a Renault dealer locally and my last (I got quotes from most in the area) I got my Cup service down from £250 to £170.

A few other things...

Make sure all bulbs are working, change them if needs be. Also check the conidition of wiper blades and change if required. Don't bother topping up the washer fluid, I've done this twice now only for them to drain it completely and charge me for new stuff! I also replaced my air filter with an ITG Panel Filter before-hand, will save lots of money in the long run and it means you can get that knocked off your bill.

Major point though is oil, plenty of horror stories here about them using "whatever is in the barrel", I would highly recommend purchasing your own and supplying it to them to change, this will also save you a fortune as they charge an incredible amount for oil (seems to be where half the profit comes from)

Bubbling paint on the boot lid? if its still under warranty so is under three years old how the hell did that happen?

Paintwork has a longer warranty think its 8 years just thoguht id mention. But this isnt the first car ive heard about today with bubbling paint apparently its been put down to "sunlight and heat" personally i think thats bull!

Just got the call from Reno Manchester to say its been serviced.
Paint work is to be done next week.
Knocking was a loose gear box mounting bolt........what are the chances it will still knock when l pick it up tonight? Place your bets now..........

My cup is due it first service next month and I've only done 5000! Sadly I mainly use public transport and the Clio is only really a weekend car. I'm actually thinking of selling it because its something I don't really need at the moment.

Should I sell after the service or before? Can't decide. The service seems to be quite expensive for what it is!

Get your service done first in my opinion, plenty of Cups around at this time of year (people scared to keep them over the winter I guess!) and values tend to be a little lower. If you don't get the work done someone will only try and knock you down a further £200 anyway.

I think i may have a slight problem with the paint on the boot lid of my Cup too...
I only noticed it the other day when washing it, there are very small browny dots over it.. not too noticible yet, but i shall be keeping an eye on them, It does look like rust forming, but then it's also on the Boot handle bit, and i'd have thought that was plastic?? who knows... either way it doesn't come off by washing.. scratching with nails... or such things like that so it may be back to the dealers...

Guess what? You got it....it still knocks!!!!!
All you have to do is put it in first, move off very gently then take your foot off the gas and....'clunk'! How can a trained mechanic not notice this!!!
Reno Manchester gave me 3 phone calls to let me know how the car was doing, book it in to the body shop for next week etc. They were very polite and gave me a free keyring. The car was washed and cleaned inside and looked fantasic. But they have been let down by the guy who tightened up the gearbox mounting pad bolt, tested it and said it was ok.
They are going to get a phone call soon.........
