2 types of inlets!!!? ...not happy!

yyyyy!? i did not no of this :( bought some and got round to fit them and they are very slighty different!!! top lft hand hole were u fix thru is in a different place to original one and and there is an extra nob thing sticking out on the top right side ;(

if im rite and danny will agree with me the 182s have a dont have the the oil strainer going up into inlet manifold like the 172s do

there's stil a hole in the plenum for it, though it's missing from the breather cover. It's a vacuum takeoff for the carbon canister BTW ;)

The 182 has an extra metal pipe next to the servo vacuum takeoff for the carbon canister pipe to clip on to

show off lol i remembe icarus sayin sumote like that a while ago but at the time didnt make much sence lol

I assume it's not posiible to use it at all.. Block off extra pipe and just not fix that one fixing!? LOL?? Just gona b such a faff to sort getting another set and could really do with them fitted for the quater mile meet on the 1st/2nd august.. :(

Any advice/ideas!?

I should have some 172 and 182 inlets back in this week, which I can modify and have sent out within 2 working days.

well the ones i have were originaly for a trophy, but i obv had no idea when i bought them that they were different to the ph2 172 which is what i have, either did the guy i biught them off lol. all new to me.

so i can do a swap if thats what you mean? or u could just modify the ones off my 172 and then fire them back on and ill just give you the ones i have atm!? thats if your still up in cumbria!? im away on holiday this next week 14th-21st tho :S..

Are you meaning the plenum or the inlet?

Plenum (top part) differ but sure the inlets (bottom 90 degree) are compatible across the 172 / 182 range?

oh will be the plenum then, i just thought both parts were called matched inlets lol :S but yea i guess, didnt get far enough to see if th inlet would fit also :S ??

Lower MANIFOLD

The plenum and manifold along with other associated bits make up the inlet SYSTEM

Generalising with these 2 components only makes confusion as per your reply above lol - If you look above your reply he's actually said plenum. :)

Plenum = top.

Inlet = bottom.



Put the inlet on which should fit and your original plenum mate.
