Hi all
Just done a major service on the gf's car and stuck on the final job - the cambelt. Well, not the belt itself, but the upper cover. I've got a Haynes for it, but it doesn't tell you how to remove this.
I've got the car on stands, wheel off, engine jacked up with a block of wood, and removed the engine mount. The engine mount bolts onto the upper cambelt cover. I've undone the 2 bolts bottom left and bottom right (that's all I could see/feel) that hold the cover on, but it ain't budging. I've given it a tap with a block of wood, but it ain't going anywhere. It may be that it's just tight and needs a good thump, but being a cautious kind of guy I'd prefer to find out for sure instead of breaking anything.
Can any of you nice chaps shed any light on what I'm missing here ? Are there other bolts hidden away anywhere - obviously my head is more than 5" wide otherwise I'd be able to get in there and have a look
