438 CATCAMS

  Renault Clio 182
i was a little dissapointed that k-tec's monico blue 172 courtesy car was nicer than mine i did ask if i could take it home but they said no

  Megane 225 F1
Maybe slate was the wrong word. But it's negative whereas somewhere like tdf would be positive

I think it's just a case these cams actually give good results, regardless who's doing the work...It's negligible whether you'd be any better off with these over the 421s still IMO. When theres a tiny minority of specialists that think it's not possible to idle them on standard management.

That's where qualifications and know-how obviously come in.

  Megane 225 F1
I'm not saying they wont, I'm just fed up of bandwagon c***s like yourself that never have anything positive to say about them when you haven't really had experience with them (and other companies).

yes mate iboth with k-tec

Haha. Don't worry mate, I had these fags jump on the bandwagon when I did the same.

All that matters is your happy with it.

Everyones get hung up on the fact that it HAS to be the same rolling road. You've done that a have gained a fair chunk of power over standard and I'm sure the driveability is much better. Good work.

Oh and dont worry about what anyone else thinks.

cheers guys it has made a big difference really really pleased i just want to get my suspension sorted and really start to enjoy it hopefully all in time for the summer well that warm weather we get on the odd occasion in summer time

Weird you would make such an inaccurate claim.
I have had dealings with them, and I have got positive things to say about them, I just think their rolling road figures are a bit dodgy.

Ask me about their mail order side, you'll probably cum in your pants at my response.

I think to prove the difference, all you can do is take a stock-ish car, do a before RR run, fit and map cams, and do an after RR run, Ignore peak torque and BHP figures and concentrate on the difference the mods have made. The only way to check one mod against another would be to use the same process......

I'd rather cum in my pants at the day when I see a post that you haven't looke down on people an acted like a c**t tbh. Better still , I'd rather cum over my own car.

I can imagine the big clio meets being one massive punch up lol a bit like the mods and rockers but the 421's and 438's if you no what i mean?

This is something K-tec only offer as a separate service, when in practice it's professional courtesy to check healthy running before hand....frankly

Will, by the way with reference to TDF, if you look at the two recent ITB cars from them with nitrous, I have added comments about where they have got the nitrous install wrong by the way, so not sure why you think they wouldnt get the same honest and accurate appraisal from me that anyone would.

If something isnt wrong, it doesnt need correcting, so by definition it tends to only be things with faults that I talk much about as I I cant see much point me sitting around all day posting "nice car mate" its not actually useful me doing so as any other people can do that, but most other people on here for example cant talk in detail about optimum setup of a nitrous kit or how to build an engine etc so the few people like myself who can's time is better spent on things like that in the main so thats what most of my posts are, anyway if people posting a thread just want that "nice car" sort of response endlessly then why not whack it on facebook where 200 people can "like" it and there is no "dislike" feature.

Damn need to get some matched inlets and a decat on mine and get it re-run.

Any chance you could post your graphs up so i can see where you have made gains compared to mine?

Why is it that people will only slate a car when it makes a decent power / torque output. I really don't understand. I bet if he had the same figures from some where that people bum like TDF, it would be ok, but because it's K-tec where people have a problem with, it's not accurate all of a sudden.

Glad you're happy with the car mate :)

People know roughly what these cars make with X Y Z mods.

The torque result is very high for only a set of cams.

Yes u r right. I want cams, but what r the best ones? 421's 438's or freds new ones??? What's the difference between them all?

My understanding from what ive read. Dont attack me if im wrong.

The GT cams are pretty similar to 428s. BTM and 519 are selling these atm, cheaper than cat cams.
438's are pretty much 421's with a slight difference that allows them to idle better. Even though 421's can be made to idle properply!

All the blank for the cams are made in the same factory, then theyre are ground to specs by seperate companies.

Some of that may be incorrect lol.

Cool,

Indeed I think for a trackcar the 421's are probably best for peak gains with the rough idle. Really want to see a comparison between Freds new cams and these 438's, but trying to get two cars that have the mods to compare maybe difficult.

What's best for a fast road car with exhaust, inlets, filter? Danny?

Lol, there's no point asking him as he's K-Tec's senior salesman!

Best to wait for a few more results to come out from the GT cams that BTM are dealing with before making the purchase.

519 also sell the GT cams. Food for thought.

Lol. True. Ok what cat cams then for fast road?

Seems most people go for 428's for a fast road cam.

I personally am waiting for more results with these GT cams and 438's before I decide what to go for.

After a quick search the 421's appear to give good gains but all right at the top of the rev range so not much good for road use, more track. Looks like either 438 or freds, will wait to see some results before taking the plunge

All this discussion about the figures. OP has had his done, 20bhp rise. I've had mine done, 23 bhp rise. Starting to get some consistency on the difference here, whatever the rolling road used was....

As OP said, I'm happy with how my car drives, and I'm tempted on a trip to Charlies at SRR to hopefully silence the doubters.

Think the phrase is;

'haters gonna hate.'

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Gt racing cams, to all intents ano purpose ARE 428s. Some very minor changes made. I've been dealing with them since 2009
