A Warning about your Clio 182

This is probably statin the bleedin obvious but..... if your thinking of selling your Clio 182, THEN DON'T!

Got rid of my Clio 182 last year for a new VW GOLF GTI MKV.

I THOUGHT, that bein VW, it'd be better built and i'd get better service from the dealers...... how wrong i cud have been.

The GTI's been back three times for various problems in 6 months. Each and everytime the service has been crap.

Unlike my old Renault dealer, VW have never bothered to clean my car. I kno its a little fing, but its still annoyin. I'd expect better of a supposed "premium" brand compared to Ford, Renault etc...

And to cap it off, its pretty dull to drive. Very fast yes, but nothing like the hooligan of my old 182.

Ppl say a lot abt shoddy renault interiors, but my GTI has got more rattles than a bleedin rattle snake. My £12k 182 was better built than this £21k waste of space.

To be honest, it aint all bad. The car's a nice ownership proposition, but the VW dealer and service drive me crazy.

So if ure finkin of part-exing ure CLIO for a supposed step-up the hot hatch ladder, then don't bother!

Incidently, i fink i may get rid of my GTI for a Trophy.....

I was round at a friends today and his neighbour who has a new Audi was telling us about his car and the service (or lack off) he's had. It makes Renault look superb. Then again on the way to his house my friend put his foot down in his A6 1.8T humm that was him gone in a few seconds and he didn't use more than 3k there was me caning my car watching him dissapear.

There is one good thing about the GTi .. It will hold it's value a lot better than the clio ever will

Never, they always depreciate, but it will handle the depreciation better than the humble little clio 182.

Depends what price you put on fun I guess?

Some people like to drive down the road at moderate speed in comfort, thinking about how much money they are saving / not loosing.

I, on the other hand, don't give a monkey's about economy, depreciation or investments and enjoy every one of the 100 miles I pile onto my 182 each day.

Thats why I always feel this page is good. Gives a good idea of real reliability experiences of buyers. That model Golfs seem to have a lot of problems. Loads of people seem to have windows dropping or going wrong, I know my mates did.

U get a hell of a lot for your money with a 172 / 182, maybe the quality aint quite the same but I dont think the interiors half bad, i love the seats just dont like the seat height, I hate the silver plastic bits thats so naff but i like the soft touch plastic etc. Its a cracking car for the money new or second hand.

very eye opening, ud think for the extra 8k+ ud get somit better obviously not.

But its the little things hat make the difference, car being cleaned after service etc etc.

Hahaha good old VW, I was in the same boat mate I got rid of my old cup and got a mkiv v6 4mo golf what a mistake!!! Nothing but agro with the car and dealers for a whole year. Sold it and got another cup - Love it, and not leaving this one and when I eventually do it won't be for no "upper class", "quality built" VW. Theives in suits I tell the'.

.....and german, they must still be upset at the 5-1 thing so send us the shabby ones lol
