Advice: Best Colour for a Mk 2 172

Hi Folks,

My brother is gonna be buying a 172 (trying 2 persuade him on the merits of the Cup and their extreme performance advantage over the normal 172 due to massive weight reduction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Anyway, what do people reckon is the best colour? Flame red seems 2 get a few shouts but I reckon black could look good and rare?? Objective advice appreciated.

Black is nice..such an arse to clean though. Id pick Flame Red if i had the choice. If i got a 182 id get it in yellow though!

I like red, and you dont see many of them around.

I went for Blue, and over the last year its only been over the last month or two that Ive been to club meets and seen another one.

Heres a stunning example in blue: http://www.leemather.plus.com/images/Clio280304/index.htmlLink

Youre brother obviously has more class wanting a 172 over a Cup. ;)

Black looks grey and makes a 172 look like a 1.2!!! *queue beating from Jill*

Mondial Blue is the best colour IMO, but of course you cant get this on the mk2 Sport so Id go go for the dark metallic blue, which I nearly did...

Black also looks great, but its a c*nt to keep clean!

their isnt a best colour lol - personal preference init !

i think blacks best - thats why i bought a silver one !!!!!!

Well, on the Ph2 172 theres only the four colours (silver, black, blue and red). Id personally look for a blue or red one because the silver isnt unique enough (for me) and I had a black car - pain in the bum to keep looking mint!

Actually, Id be searching for a Ph1 172 in the rare Sunflower Yellow, a 172 Exclusive (green with full leather), or a Cup.

Mines silver but theres a chap at work with a red one which looks really good when the suns out.

my 1.4 is black and looks really nice, but it is a b*****d to clean. silver is eye catching tho...

think id stick with black tho!

Monaco blue, the old willy blue - its a pearl and looks absolutley stunning in the sun - so thats about 2 weeks a year!

My last one was this colour and it looks f*cking mint as f*ck

Well my Bro has seen sense and is off 2 c a Cup this arvo , thats if it doesnt blow away in the wind b4 he gets there!!!

Well b the Cup family!

Thanks 4 all ya advice.

I prefer Silver, but:
The Silver 2.0 16v badge dosent stand out against the Silver of he paint, like it does with the other colours.
All the fcuking dead flies are so obvious on the bonnet this time of year.

So, in summary, Get Silver!

Glad Im not your lover if ya recon that 0.02 of a second is an extreme performance advantage lol!!! ;)

Theyre both extremely good fun far as I can tell!!

The alloys and colour on the Cup are an advantage tho ;)

Silver without a doubt, I was lucky enough to see all the colours parked up next to each other whilst looking which swayed my decision. I originally wanted a black one but after seeing them I decided on silver because it looks best as the plastic wings look sh*te on the darker coloured cars, they just don’t blend in!

BLACK is the most stunning colour for both the 172 and the V6, and it is no more difficult to keep clean than any other colour. Once you have your black Clio just take off the standard wheels and put some OZ multispokes on it!

Stealth!!:D

Black is obviously best, and mine is the only example that looks grey because I dont clean it.

Silver, nice

Red 172s = pink, would look half decent in a proper solid red like a CTR.

Blue,
