I can't see how to remove the alternator belt on my 2001 Clio 1.2 16V D4F as the cam belt/pulleys/tensioners etc seem to be in the way - any help please?
many thanks
Removing the belt from the alternator is not the problem - the belt is completely 'loose' but is prevented from being removed completely by the cam/timing belt ie the alternator belt is between the cam belt and the engine block and there doesn't seem to be any gap through which to thread the alternator belt
Having had a closer look, perhaps what I was calling a cam belt isn't!
- it seems to just drive the PAS together with a tensioner wheel and then there is a separate belt that drives the alternator - is that correct? If so, how does the PAS belt get slackened enough to remove it?
