I have a question about this 5k kick.

Is the power above 5k the same as before? I do not mean the kick, but the power.
Or is the power under 5k more and above 5k less, so it feel straight?

I had torque steer before I had mods done. Nick Hill reckons head work on the 182 is'nt really cost effective, and he is known for his expertise in that field.

Sure it isnt 'cost effective', the whole head has to come of so that essentially a head gasket change with new cambelt.

However the gains are present so long as the heads are done properly.

THe clios are lucky in that the stock heads are CNC modified so they are consistent and flow well for a stock head, not great, but well. They have their flaws as the valve seat config is apalling, and the actual port shape is totally wrong from a performance point of view. But the engines make good torque for a reason.

The power is more all over the RPM range and the kick is still there but smoothed out a little

Hope that helps

No it doesn't :)

If I understand it correct, the power above 5k is less and it's more under 5k

Is that correct?

:)

Nowhere is the power reduced, I'd say that the power increase below 5k is more than the increase above 5k.

The so called "kick" is only when the cam timing is at an optimum for the air/fuel ratio being delivered and you dont always feel it. Its not like V-tec where you always get a serge of power.

If the MAP increases power, then thats all that counts it doesnt matter if you feel a "kick" or not.

True , that's the point i was trying to make for Jesske, how the map feel's to drive!

this remap, is this using a piggyback ecu chip thats mapped specifically to each car?

Thing with the rr graphs is finding somewhere with an accurate no bullshit RR to go to.

It's a remap of the stock ecu, no additional units at all. The mods i make are all done by me specific to certain mods. I.e. we have files setup for Inlets etc etc.

I can change the mods if required to suit other mods.

We are currently awaiting our Dyno Dynamics dyno which is one of the most respected units on the market

If I sent you a 182 ecu, can you also unlock it in order to program that?
I bought a 2nd 182 ecu, but I was waiting for a good tuningfile. I doubt between the Fastchip one and yours. Do you know the differences?

Thanks

Just looked at the RStuning website figures, why is the 172 and 182 in PS, shouldn't the 172in BHP and the 182in PS ?!

I have my inlet ported, what will the best MAP at AWT be for me, or is it just best to decide when I get there?!

Yes we can unlock the ecu to auto pair for immo puropses. Not sure on the differences between fastchips and ours as i concentrate on ours :)

The figures on the site are for a guide only but PS is right (i think)

Not sure what you are asking there?

Is there no Renault tuners in Belgium Jesske? Is it not true that all the English tuner maps are derived from the one a Dutch tuner developed?

  RS4 480hp,STI 420hp,ELISE
That's what I ment with Fastchip. He's from the Netherlands and I went to him a year ago. Not for my 182, but for a friends 172. It's only because I hear so much good news about RS tuning, I doubt. I think BB Performance and many others are using the one from Fastchip. He wrote their Turboprograms I read

We have Borremans and Raepers, very known for their experience with Alpine and Renault Sport. Raepers delivers most Cupcars for the holland Clio Cup and he drives often to Dieppe to pick up deliveries. That's were I got my Orbisoud from. It's the only chance for us to buy those products.
But they are older guys and they think different than most tuners here.
I want to tune the 182, but I first want to see what Angelworks will do with that new project :)

And please don't forget my Angelworks sticker. I want one or two or three

No i didn't spend thousands on software for development

i just copied henks

Most people have tbh but not me. Ask Henk! We had a nice conversation about some things the other week:rasp:

  a thirsty one
so if we take our car to ben he can fit the inlets that he does and he can install one of rstunings maps?
