Anyone know much about clio 172/182 ECUs

  ph1 19 16v, ph1 172

Im trying to gather some information on the engine management on 172/182s. This is what ive been able to find out so far, if you know different, please correct me:

3 types of RS clio...172mk1, 172mk2, 182

172mk1 = normal cable throttle

172mk2 = drive by wire throttle + some kind of integration with the plip/immobiliser etc

182 = same as 172mk2, diff engine map

is that about the size of it?

Also, on the drive by wire version, what is the physical difference, just the throttle body?

The ecus are the same realy on all 172/182s

the mk1 had the manual throttle body the Mk2 had the electric one.

All 172/182 have the plip imobiliser on the key.

ok thanks for that.

excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is plip and how does it work? is it just a key proximity thing?

Early MK1s didnt run a second lambda.

diff ECU for cable and FBW, with totally diff loom, and for cup with no aircon.

None of the ECUs are really the same. Engine mapping wise yea, systems no.
