are Magnex loud

Hi all... Im after your opinions on Magnex back boxes.Im not really into LOUD exhausts that make your ears bleed on the motorway.I like a quick quiet car but a sporty sound is sometimes nice.

Its just Ive been offered one of these for £85 which is cheap right?

it is the 6x4 though I prefer the 3.5 round if any.

Anyway my question was..if I get it is it going to drive me nuts going along the motorway?

Mines the 3" I think or maybe 3.5" - its meaty sounding around town but is quiet most of the time when at certain speeds. Can still annnoy the tits off you on a long journey - but I am old now!!(28)

Im not far behind... 25... when I was 18 I had a ford escort with Cherry bombs on ... so Ive been through the loud as possible stage... I now just appreciate a sporty sound.. lol

Well mine is nice - noisy but not as bad as most. Luvverly sound - I m now totally used to it and dont notice it. Other people do notice it - you can sit on the motorway with very little sound but you have to be at a certain speed - I drove the car about 350 miles home after buying it so ive had plenty of experimenting.

yes i got the 6x4 is quite loud but i love the sound when u put your foot down can annoy you but like the rest u get used to it.

i have a magnex 3.5 inch twin, sounds well nice, not ott. my gf has only moaned once about it. like you i did not want anything that would drive me mad on motorways.

You do get used to it - my Powerflow used to leave ringing in my ears, now it doesnt.. (after Motorway driving)..

Do retailers of these exhausts have sound clips available before buying?

They do quieten down a little after a few thousand miles - when mine was new I used to get headaches on the motorway - not any more thankfully. I guess its because they get lots of gunk and junk on the inside and therefore become less boomy.

somone did have a clip i think but you cant really tell what it is going to be like. mine can get quite loud after a long trip when its really hot, the burble below 2.5k sounds even better then.

LOL just get a k-tec and have it done hahahahahha....... I dont think they ever quieten down as a matter of fact the other night I thought it had fallen off coz it got SOOOOO loud it viberated the whole car then the revs slowly dropped down from 5k.... I pulled over looked at it it was fine then drove it and it didnt do it anymore strange eh?!?!?!

When the k-tec is on a quiet one which it does now and again it sounds lovely its just most of the time its loud as feck!

The back box on its own isnt that loud - dont team it up with an induction kit though. I did this and it is so loud over 3000rpm
I paid £167 for mine so £85 is a bargin.
