Been to K-tec. Look what I got !

  200sx S14 Strawberry
Been to K-tec today. Got a Milltek exhaust fitted, a decat and a re-map, really impressed with the work done. Exhaust sounds wicked, its not to loud so that it wakes everyone up in the mornings, just right. I would recommend it if anyone wants a new exhaust.

Got a few pictures of the work done.

Oh, and a big thanx to all the guys down at K-tec.

Great pics Gav. As a matter of interest, did they try to make you buy an Orbisoud instead?

nice one mate! i love my milltek, its got a little more bass a month or so on. did k-tec do your re-map? was it on rollers?

  200sx S14 Strawberry
really nice mate what difference have all these mods made cheers buddy

Apart from the sound and being faster. The car pulls a lot better at low rev's and more responsive. U can notice the difference.

K-tec did the re-map. It was not done on the rollers. When I spoke to K-tec they said "they would put a re-map which would work well with the mods i have". Live re-map's are done on car's with bigger mods, turbos's etc.

I also have a viper fitted.

If you like the Milltek now, wait until you've done a few hundred miles, after 750 it sounds awesome compared to day of fitting

any car benefits from a live remap,as it no car is the same, so he cant say that the remap will be spot on. There will also be glitches and spikes in the original map and even the generic map he put on yours, it will need a live remap to get those ironed out and it'll be a massive difference.

How long did it take to do the exhaust and the remap? Getting the same done myself sometime

It will depend on what exhaust you get. The chap who fitted my millek had only done one so I would guess it took a bit longer. Took about hour and a half. Did have a problem with getting it straight but got there in the end. I had to wait for the bloke who does the remap cuz he was on another car. You should be no longer than two hours.

Yeah I understand what you mean. But at this stage I thought I would save my money. I will have live map done but I want to get all the mods I want done first which will take about a year.

gav man do you ever use S J Cooks? Has your cup got a FF interior?

yeah thats where the car goes when broken, luckily not very often.

Not sure what 'FF interior' means. At a guess it would be factory fitted. I got rid of the cup interior and now have leather out of a 182.

No i did mean the Full Fat (normal 182) interior i thought i regionised your car worked on it a few times. Could i ask why you removed the stickers on the doors?

thought it looked to much like a bad-boy thing.

I'm after a spare key, any chance you getting a cheap 1.

O, can't forget the magic tree. That makes all the difference

I also have the Milltek now, but I prefered the Orbisoud without any doubt!
Orbisoud is so easy to fit and it fits 100% correct. Also better weldings of backbox.
Yours is also to far to the right and a little to low. I think I havn't seen a pic of a Milltek that was centered good. Mine was also to far to the right and to low. Took me hours to center it correct.

I agree I feel the difference in lower and very high revs. Flat spot is also less or gone when changing gear

Nice one youth...
Yet ANOTHER person who thinks the Milltek exhaust is a good buy and would recommend it, and its only been 6 weeks since the group buy was done for these.
(is now awaiting for btb people to pop up with crap todo with the welds and quality bollox)

I'm particular on things being done right, If the Milltek was anything other than right then it'd have been taken off my car within the first week
Fitted perfect first time (fitter thought it was quality), sits perfect in the bumper surrounds and imo has the nicest looking tailpipes of any
As for the welds, I think they do the job, lol who gives a damn what they look like, if they fail then I'll just get a replacement under warranty
Have done 1300 miles with it now and sounds better every week
I know it sounds awesome when I'm next to another car thats got an aftermarket exhaust and they sound terrible in comparison (not comparing noise to other 182's but hot hatches in general)

Noise is just right, if it were too loud I'd personally feel stupid in a Clio, my neighbours wouldn't put up with it, Everyone would want to take me on and my wife would prob think I was stupid

Yeah the left tailpipe needs ajusting, going to get that sorted on my next weekend off. You can see on the 1st 2 pic's thats its aligned right, but when I got home (pic 3) it had moved.

I think the difference at low and high revs has more to do with the re-map, rather than the exhaust.

Very happy with it. What to get next???:)

I don't have a remap but feel the difference in high revs and specially on highway. Think it's because it's oversized and without cat

Milltek is a totally different animal. Cool.

K-Tec don't make exhausts - K-Tec supply other peoples products ;)
If we're being ANL about it.

KTEC market some exhausts as their own. Although we know theyre made by Janspeed.
I wasn't being ANL. I was highlighting that this was a Milltek, IMO a much better product than the KTEC own brand exhausts.

MarkA understood my comment and noted this later in the thread that by his own admission he had "been lazy" reading the post. All sorted.
