i have an autoaccoustic sub box and i made a false floor in a few hours.

basically a sheet of MDF (i used chipboard cos its all they had and it seems fine but i imagine MDF is better quality), cut to the shape of the floor card. then raised up with batons underneath, attached using counter-sunk screws. then covered in bass box carpet off ebay (by far the cheapest place) whole thing cost about 10 quid, maybe 15.

im from swindon, but at uni in loughborough.

its pretty easy, the hardest part was getting off my arse and going down the shop to get the wood. ;)

Ive got a similer set up to entjm the only difference being ive got 2 amps mounted flush with the floor.

Pretty simple really. Put the boot liner onto a sheet of 12mm MDF, cut round it, mark out where you want the amps, cut holes out, mount the amps from the underside, cover with perspex [ bought from Focus DIY 4mm i think ] and then carpet the whole lot. Oh yeah and for the final effect monut neons underneath side on with the amps so that there alluminated at night !!

I havent needed to screw my false floor to the floor, also i havent needed to raise it on battons either cos ive got my amps sunk where the spare wheel recess is. It dosent rattle cos the carpet is tucked underneath !!

Ill put pictures up when i find out how to !! HeHeHe

i have kept my spare wheel, i take it you have too and the amps just sit on top of the wheel?

on mine the top of the amp has a perspex panel thats etched and it lights itself up.

i removed the sound proofing between the boot adn the car and tucked my neons up there, they are wired off the boot close switch. theyre pretty useful for illuminating the whole boot because the pissy little light in the side does nothing. with those i can rummage all night long ;)

Weve just been doing my sound system this week. Im gonna run the neons like you off the boot close switch although another pall reckons i should run it off the remote from the HU instead.

Nah ive ditched the spare to save weight. That was well gone before my install was a pipe dream !! HeHeHe .....hey if a can of tyre weld is good enough for the Cup boys its good enough for us heavy weight 172 drivers !! LOL
