BG 182

  Clio 182, V8 Landy
Tidy car! USB install is nice. In my opinion, the suedette is too dark. The Clio uses a charcoal colour and yours looks more like black?
Has anyone on here managed to get something similar and have a link to suit? Would like to do the pillar trims and headlining on mine.

The first time round when I did this the suede I had was pretty much spot on with the colour of alcantara, however the place got a new roll in and it was completely different unfortunately.
I did the headlining in my 1.2 and it's not too bad, hardest part was the sunroof bit obviously the sports don't have one. I'll be sourcing some new suedette when I get chance or just go with the more expensive stuff.

Where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking? Do you have a rough idea of what's expensive or cheap?

I got the suede from BST Fabrics, first time round it was spot on, second was a new roll. Both times it came to £12 for 4 metres of the stuff. Genuine alcantara is about £50 per square metre!

Cheeky follow back on Instagram mate, cars a beaut makes me wish mine wasn't such a shed
Thanks mate! Far from perfect, but hoping to get it close to eventually. The cup looks good! Never seen you about in it when i'm home though and I'm in Knaresborough/Harrogate a fair bit.

Got a letter in regards to renewal with my insurance company and from the 20th January I'll be fully insured on my 182. Can't wait! Expect lots more updates when that comes round.
I also went and picked up a cup spoiler from @mossyv6 for a bargain price, so will be machine polishing this and then getting it fitted asap. Should tidy up the back end nicely :)

Cup spolier will finish it off on the rear. Bet you can't wait to get out there in it.

Will you and the BG make an appearance at this year's CSF? Be great to meet you

@Louis'
Depending on the time of year yeah! It at blyton? Would love to get on track and improve my driving ability, would probably need training a little first though!
Be great to meet you and others too Mark.

I do t know when it is or even where but id guess it will be announced around February time and I'd hazard a guess it'll be back at Blyton as it works well for everything and is central for everyone.

Fitted my cup spoiler today, and i really like the look! Had a few problems with fitment, but have managed to get it sitting pretty much flush now (Better than in the pictures). The only issue was there was some filler on the edge which stopped it sitting properly, and when I tightened up the bolts it cracked away. Not a huge issue as it's not visible when the boots down but I will get this repaired and probably respray the spoiler at a later date.
It's also catches a small bit on the body of the car, so further adjustments are needed.

Looks good mate.

As said on Facebook, mine stands off the glass a bit and used to catch on the roof of the car until I sanded down the two little pieces that are on the underside of the spoiler.

I'll give it a go again when it's less windy, which parts is it out of interest? There's a few different mouldings underneath.

Nice start, glad to see another member saving one!
I really want to get those carbon fiber bits for the dash, wheel and gear stick. Don't suppose you know where I could get them from!
Are you going to update the NAV? I wonder what the latest disc is for it lol.

It's the little bits that go under the bootlid when you fit it if that makes sense?

Will get a photo after work if you're still struggling.

I'm not sure where they're from to be honest. I do know that there's a company called carbon streamline or something that do carbon parts for clio so maybe worth checking there?
And the latest one is 2012/13 which i hope to get but i'm in no rush. It's just a novelty!

Thanks for that, I just checked the site out and has most of the parts, not cheap though haha. What's next for you then?

Sprayshack i've heard do them too, might be worth a message. They do often come up in the parts for sale so just keep an eye out mate.
The plan next is just to drive the car really! I need to solve the ABS issue and then get the belts done but for now other than general maintenance I'm going to enjoy the car.

Installed the dashcam I got for christmas today. I had hoped to get it further behind the rear view mirror, but due to the mounting brackets it just wasn't possible. It's way out of the way of my sight, and I dont see it being an issue when I'm looking in the rearview especially as the screen can be turned off. All the wiring is nicely hidden away and the dashcam can be easily removed as it uses a magnetic strip onto a mount to stay in position. 1440p apparently, but 1080p runs with a higher FPS so i'll have to have a play to see what's better.

Also took some more photos of my cup spoiler now it's sitting a bit better. Needs some tweaking but i'm happy!

Just took the 182 out for the first time and I now understand what all the hype is about! An awesome car to drive! The power delivery above 5k revs is insane, and you're soon at 60!
It's completely different to the 1.2 in nearly every way. You can feel all the bumps in the road and the one near me is especially bad, I've just not noticed before.

I also have a rattling dephaser, I just don't think it's been hot enough for me to hear before now. I'll get a video tomorrow as I'm not sure if it's 'bad' or not. Glad I'm booked in for belts just hope nothing goes in the meantime!

I still can't get over how civilised they feel at low revs 30-40 mph but put your foot down and the induction kit sounds amazing. I returned 40 mpg too after filling up with v-power which is crazy without any motorway driving.

Nice thread so far, glad you're enjoying the car finally. Don't be a hero though take it easy for a few weeks until you're used to the car!
Look forward to seeing more progress looks like a clean example

Cheers mate really appreciate the kind words!
Yeah I definitely won't be driving it too hard as I'd just like to get to know it properly. Risky on the current belts too and I don't have any abs either at the minute.
Handles so well, sticks much more with less body roll than my 1.2.
I'll keep my thread updated and get some pictures taken in some nicer locations than my driveway!

Will we be meeting you at some Yorkshire meets then @Louis'?

We need to organise some meets first! Although that RR day could be a good idea.

Bet it's ace coming from a 1.2 to a 182, proper step up in power. Shame you can't make it to mine tomorrow, would be a good drive out for you.

Don't worry about taking my service book mate, it'd end up costing more to meet up somewhere than it would to post it. Thanks for the offer though, appreciate it.

What time are you meeting tomorrow? Change of plan as I've not gone home now so I may be able to pop round. Depends on what times as i'm working at 6pm.

Went on a drive today to Dovestone reservoir and on the way took some photos. Not great but i'm still getting a hang of the camera! Car performed faultlessly, but i think the decat's blowing a little bit as it seemed to suddenly get louder on the way back, and then just went quieter again. Was very odd! I know they're dodgy though and it's best to get a flange welded on?

Weather stayed nice though and the scenery just out of huddersfield is amazing!

Will probably be around 11ish, maybe a touch later.

Drop me a PM with your number and I'll send you a text tomorrow if you want. As I'm just gonna text Dan when I'm back from having my hair cut.

I had a 1.2 as my first car, had a another after but when i went to buy my 182, you just imagine it to still be slow, still makes me laugh how quick it is for a little clio.

Cheers all! Yeah it's great going from a 1.2, to a 182. Think I need to get the 98 ron map on it as it's got quite a big 5k kick. I had been told this had been done, but i was also told by a PO it had cams, when I dont think it does... (Not by the PO who sold me it, by the one before that).

These were taken on the A635 on the way to dovestone reservoir mate. Car's actually filthy in person! Needs a good clean but i left my sponge at home!

Had a fairly productive day today as I managed to wash, clay, polish and wax the clio. Looks really good now but it got dark just as I finished so no pictures i'm afraid. I'll try grab some tomorrow! The paintwork is like glass now so i'm pretty chuffed. Not that it'll stay clean for more than a few days with it being black and winter.

I also removed the rear elf sticker and de-wipered the car as I think it looks loads better. Just put a halfords grommet in it for now, but will probably get a proper blank in the future.
