This may sound like a really stupid question but how do the 2 car teams work?

Instead of a driver change, one car comes in, and then the other car goes out.

Nobody has done it before, but it is in the rules, don't know how the pitstop would work though, but it is possible.

Keeps the costs down too.

Well it will still cost the same in terms of things like Travel to the circuit, annual rebuilds, testing time etc, the only costs halved will be stuff like:
Tyre use during race
Fuel during race
Entry fee
Ie just the actual raceday costs themselves.

But would be just like doing a sprint series, 15-20 min races for £150-160, plus other costs. Still be cheaper.
