After practising on my GF's 16v Badges which came out pretty well I decided to change the Colour of my Boring Silver 2.0 16v Badges

Here are some Pics

Got a Few other Bits n Pieces for the Interior which are nearly finished aswell but I'll post them in here when they are Finished, May also do the Engine Cover BUT that is a Pretty Big Area to get Smooth :S

Thank You, Yeah I'd do yours, I did my GF's a Colour that would look good on your car

Would come up a deeper colour if I did your one's as she didn't let me build up the layers of Laqcuer

Think it was 320 Sandpaper to Rough it all up and then 1200 Wet'n'Dry between Primer-Paint and Paint-Gloss but didn't Rub down the Gloss at all, Built up about 5 or 6 Layers of Clear Coat, I'm pretty happy with the Finish :approve:

I'll hopefully do a few more soon and i'm thinking I'll get better and better at them as I do more!!

ah cool, dont think im going to prime it, my painter friend said if its already painted it wont need primed! but well see! handy to know you primed it anyway! lol

How did you manage to sand evenly and accurately around the numbers?

And what did you paint the letters/numbers with?

I just initially sand them all down and just take my time as there is no point rushing things,
Once all sanded I primer them and then once dry I wet sand them down and dry them off and spray the full colour and let it dry,
Once dry I just lightly go over it all and i just use the Brush that comes with a touch up set from Renault and then just clear coat them, Job done!

Sorry, forgot to ask, can you just brush the touch up pen straight onto the anthracite paint or do you need to primer the letters?

I just paint on, Prob do no harm slightly sanding the letters a little but not neccesary I don't think, I haven't on the Two Sets I've odne and they've turned out ok

Few more layers of Clear Coat as suggested :star:

I broke a Clip on the back of one :dapprove: Was it Araldite or something that was recommended to Fix it on does anyone know??

indeed mate, many thin layers makes all the difference

bugger about the clip... yes araldite will make the repair stronger than the original plastic! lol

B&Q, Homebase, Halfords all sell it

in the middle of painting mine now! looking well so far, running a day behind schedule, as i went to do it last night only to pick up an empty spray can and realise it was all up the wall!...back to halfords with an unbelievable story but got a new can anyway!...shesh!

rubbed mine down with scotchbrite pads instead of wet and dry as they were already painted! so jobs a gd un! will post the monaco results when im done!
