jeeez , im surprised that didnt touch it tbh. Try some CGs cut 1.0 on a yellow lake country pad. A harsh combo but if what you tried hasnt had an affect its worth a go. How many passes was it?

Have you heard of bmw's anti-chip lacquer?

We have special buff pads at work to take it off, it's rock solid.

Bmw's and Audi's I believe have been using it for years now.
Bmw's being the hardest of the lot.

I think this is why you're having problems.

Hence the rs' don't get stone chips, but mine funking does!

Amazed that that combo hasn't done anything, good for chips, bad for detailing.

A rotary would be best bet!

What i don't get is that this paint is ovbiously very very hard but why does it mark so easily lol

Yesterday i caugh it with my extention cable and that marked it FFS.

German paint, especially BMW can be a pain - but not impossible to correct.

You should have no problem using 3M Fast Cut Plus with a 3M compounding pad as great products.

Make sure you work area is no larger than 1' square. Work the polish slowly to start then work up to 1500 - 1800 rpm until residue is clear and then refine at a slower speed.

The most common problem with German paint is too short a work time and trying to refine too large an area.

Above speeds are for Rotary if using a DA spread at speed 2, polish at speeds 4-5. Work the polish longer - if polishing in the sun then to prevent the polish drying out to quickly before it does its job spritz the pad with some water or QD and continue.

Cheers Matt I'll give it another go in smaller areas. How much 3M should i be putting on the pad to start with?

amazing, I've never understood this either, Really went for my car with megs ultra cut 105 and a sonus cutting pad for hours, and the scratches remained! The pressure washer house just 'touched' the bonnet and it put a nasty scratch on it! wtf?
