Brake worries

  Mazda 3 MPS Mk1
Im not sure how to describe the problem im having but occasionally ill have virtually no braking power until i stomp on the pedal, and only then ill start to get some braking. but sometimes its fine.

i spoke to a mechanic friend and he said the vacuum line that runs to the master cylinder has a 1 way valve on it, and it may be shot.

Anyone had anything similar?

Ps im running ds2500's, hc brembos, braided lines and high performance fluid.

im having the same problem mate, have to pump the pedal sometimes, other times they are fine?!

im going to bleed the system and see if it helps. will let you no how i get on.

  Dodgy one
Have a look at the brake vac line, runs from the rear of the inlet manifold around the back of the exhaust manifold and has been known to melt in the past

i have checked the hose and it seems fine, it runs behind the heat sheilding on the bulkhead, would it melt behind there?

Get the brakes bled first, a garage would only charge half an hours labour.

If that doesn't help, worry.

I've heard that the Renault system can trigger the abs to bleed or something like that to make sure it's done right....

Erm... the idea is to keep brake fluid constantly flowing through the brake lines, so that air doesn't get into the ABS pump. Nothing to do with diagnostics.

Your right about plugging it in, its to operate a solenoid in the abs system to ensure it bleeds as well!

A normal bleed should be fine though, renault only suggest plugging in if normal bleeding doesn't work or isn't great I believe.

I will be doing mine this coming week so I will let you noif it works
