Buying a 172, but what to go for?

  LY R26 230 F1 Team
Basically i'm selling the rep mobile for a real 172.

My problem is that good condition cups seem to be readily available for £3-4k where as the run of the mill 172's seem to be slightly worse for wear at those prices, with higher milage aswell!

I really didnt want a cup due to the fact that poverty spec isnt an upgrade for me at all. But the general feeling i get is people look after the cups more...

Advice please?????????

Cheers, chris.

Nothing in either of them performance wise on the road, ino as I have been there, on the track yes they are better but that's it "run of the mill" 172 has all the extras tho ;) oh yea n flame red is the colour to have ;)

I bought my 172 for 3.6k with 48k on the clock 02plate n was in mint condition! Fsh history etc

Entirely down to the owner tbh.

There will be a lot of nice 172's out there still. 4k will see you in a decent 172 with the belts done imo.

  172 Cup
There are plenty 172s around for under 4k in good condition with belts done etc, you just need to be willing to travel.

IMO although biased, I think the Cup looks a bit more special and you tend to see less about.

My mate has a 172 cup and I had a 182 with cup packs a while back - his car was marginally faster but not enough in it for me to have wanted his car. Much preferred the half leather seats in my car, plus the xenons, climate control, cd changer etc...

Get a cup with air-con then ;)

That's not a real Cup :rasp: Or maybe that's just me trying to make excuses for my poverty spec  lol

My suggestion would be to go for the Cup (slightly biased though as I've owned 2) All depends on you and what you want. If you can do without the toys, half leather and ABS then go for the CUP.

Best colour (my opinion) less equipment on them so there's less to go wrong and with it being a Renault it will go wrong at some point, were my reasons for buying a Cup.
