So I purchased the 6 x Proline braided kit just before they closed luckily, Fitted today with my freshly referbished calipers by MS Custom Engineering.

Ignore the horrible winter wheels.

And then I had a surprise when I found out my car already had braided lines front and rear with goodridge lines.

So the 172 has been off the road for the past few weeks as I had a split in the power steering line near the pump. This then in hand coated the Aux belt & tensioner causing the tensioner to seize and rub on the softened aux belt.

This is the braided power steering line I had fitted.

Along with a brand new aux belt kit

I had the car recovered to a garage who fitted these for me as I havent had the time nor have the knowledge yet to do bits like this on my drive, therefore I dont have any photos of them fitted.

I also got myself a daily to reduce the miles and usage on the 172:

BMW E46 320d Coupe
- Need to keep it standard to save money for 172
- Already has mods
- Makes me want to do more little mods
- Powerflow catback exhaust
- lowered on JON coilovers
- Lots of polybushed bits
- Tinted windows, front lights, indicators, fogs etc
- Adjustable camber arms
- Probably few other bits

-

Looks like your front caliper carriers are on upside down. Liking the refurbed calipers!

Unfortunately I didn't get a photo before but the metal cover on the clutch pedal decided to fly off the other day so I've replaced it with a new one I had sat in my garage, will be doing the others to match shortly once I've got some countersunk bolts for them.

Car looks very clean mate. Not sad to spend that much time on ot, when time is all we have lately! (Unless you are still going to work)

Nice upgrades along the way too 👍

I'm a support worker for adults with learning disabilities so still work for me, feeling lucky in a sense with so many people losing there jobs or having nothing to do negatively effecting there mental health.

Day off today tho, a local bodyshop is still open but without personal contact. Today I took my dash out, door pulls, handles and few other little bits ready for them all to be painted.

So this evening I had some bad news (Covid-19 related) so did the one thing that keeps our minds busy and decided to spend an hour on my car.

It doesnt look like I did much but spent a long time on these bits.

I started by giving the part around the hinges and where all the crud seems to get on mk2's a good clean, claybar and wax, hopefully dirt and grime wont stick as easily in the future.

As well as taking the rubber seal off and giving it a deep clean.

I then gave the bolts a lick of silver paint (not very well)

No not going to be boosting it now, put a deposit down on a corbeau clubsport today so on the lookout for another, then cage and harnesses and just gonna enjoy the car. Well after the lockdown anyway, cars coming off the road next week as i'm expecting it to go on for atleast 3 months.

My dads nextdoor neighbour passed away from the virus, second person i've personally known to pass from it. Hard Hard times.

Well boost is a bit of pot luck on these, plenty of fun to be had with them as Renault intended. It does seem like this year won't see much fun time for driving I filled mine with the cheapest Tesco 99 I've ever put in it last week and I've not used any of it yet🤣🙄.

That's bad news about the neighbour, sorry to hear that mate. Our MD at work has it aparrently. He isolated last week with symptoms and is now feeling rough as f**k. I hope he gets better as he's become a grandad twice this year.

That gloss black looks excellent. Wasn’t sure it would modernise the interior but bugger me it really works 👌👌

Black gloss trims look well (y)

Black headliner would look good with the pillar trims.

Hi mate, Just caught your post, lovely looking car! Tastefully modded as well i like it, hopefully i can get mine back on the road this year (mines a 172 iceberg too :). I can see you have done almost all cosmetic stuff where as i am stuck dealing with rust, especially underneath, have you had any issues with this or your just not worried? How did you stop this happening?

Flocking the dash next to tie it all in?

I'd love to yeah, been put in contact with a flocking place sort of local so after the lockdown maybe.

I have done a lot of stuff underneath aswell but for rust I hear Bilt Hamber is good prevention.

Got a few photos of starting on deep cleaning the interior, rust preventing inside the rear arches/sill bits. Just waiting on the Hydrate 80 etc.

Just wait until you have to start redrilling your frames😂😂

You'll 100% hate how these are drilled and scratch your head at how retarded they are
