Cams for rally (172 ph1)

  Renault clio sport
Hello, i have clio sport 172 ph1, made for rally race.(Gr.N) the engine is standart, and now i need more power.I want ask which cams of these http://www.kamracing.co.uk/renault-clio-mk2-265/engine-519/ are better for rally ,whitout variuos engine moding, becose it's Gr.N... Or can you explain diferences between standart cams and these Cat cams 5502420 ? :)

and im sorry for my bad english:S

  ITB'd MK1
exactly

In relation to motorsport governed by the FIA, Group N refers to a set of regulations providing 'standard' production vehicles for competition, often referred to as the "Showroom Class"

420s are just brand new standard cams made to the best spec within standard tollerence. Piper do the same thing IIRC for the 205 gti for stock hatch

okay, then what you think about 423s? i think whit out adjustable ecu engine ill not run correctly, becose to much air and low petrol...

with 422s or 423s you need stronger valve springs and larger cut-outs in the piston crown

with standard compression and on standard/re-flashed ECU I'd recommend CAT 428s. you will NEED to have the ECU re-mapped to suit whatever you do

thank you, and whit 428s how much power possible to get?

190'ish on standard inlet manifold setup assuming supporting mods such as a reasonable exhaust and induction/filtration setup.

If you don't need to meet Grp N regs then 428's will be fine.

Cheers
M
