Cause of knocking?

Car  350z GT
So the Front NS has been knocking for a few days now, over bumps and rough surfaces it sounds like something is moving....

so after checking the wheel and strut lower bolts all is fine and tight...

then looked under the bonnet...

is this the problem??

The rubber seems to have torn away from the metal disc and the nut wont tighten up as much as the other side :/

Still cant decide if its coming from the font or the back though :/ seems to change each time i go out....

have checked all the Whiteline fittings on the back, they are all tight, top rear mounts are tight....

confused.com :/

Get track rods etc checked? That top mount needs changing though. If that's the only thing you can see that's wrong its the best place to start imo.

Yeah i agree, will get on that soon as....

only reason im checking all suspension etc is i recently had it apart to fit my sportlines so wondering if ive missed something whilst tightening :/

Anyone got the part number for one of these from renault?

or is there a better / cheaper place?

cheers

Just looking to replace with Standard atm as i was more than happy with these....

anyone got a part number and a place to order them from??

cheers

Old skool name for car parts suppliers. Just get the Renault part at the main dealer, they can't be expensive.

It's not the top mount mate. It's just a rubber coated flange to stop the suspension strut falling out of the turret. To change it just undo the nut inside. Should be a £2 or£ 3 but knowing Main dealers they will be charging £10.

Well iv got one comin now from ClioSpares....

seems like the rubber bit that has torn off could have stopped it from making a noise? Especially since the nut wont tighten up properly on it now...

iv had both the drivers side wheels off and checked everything and its all tight so must be this :/

Any clues Fred?

Im going to bring her over to you if its not that as i am baffled :/
Doesnt seem to do it at speed if that helps :/

Ill have a look mate....i did have the front and back wheels off and checked everything was tight etc but not in any detail

Also may be coming from the back :/

get a crow bar on all your bush areas to check for movement ... by factors i mean motor factors like a1 or euro car parts etc

Mines started knocking Stu, I'm going to see Fred on Saturday about the track rod ends and steering arms. I think its all related.

I'll let you know what we replace to give you some ideas.
