Change a 182 non cup into a trophy suspension wise shopping list.

Yes it madness.. just buy a trophy.

However if you did want to do it. What actually needs to be swap?

Mine is a non cup 182.

sachs front and rear..obviously
eibach springs all round?
drive shafts longer? (same as cup?)
are trophy hubs same as cup hubs?
wishbones? (are the trophy/cup ones different to non cup)
arbs?
anything different steering/rods/ends wise?

Just trying to judge what is trophy trick (cost wise..ie sachs) and what is just cup spec

Anything else handling wise different? I know Turini wheels are lighter.

Long term thoughts in mind

I know, but if you had access to a cup front end. is it just the sachs and springs which are different between cup and trophy?

  Many.
Shocks, springs and extra caster lower wishbones, which is just the same as 172 cup and 182 cup.

Hubs are different, but I think thats just larger bearing (60mm or so springs to mind), Don't think shafts would be an issue.

I'd like to be corrected though!

Cheers. keep seeing nearly all the bits kicking about and thought one day may go for it. May "cup" the car first when I do a front end refresh. Then see about them sachs ;)

Cup wishbones are worth it for the extra caster (I did it!) and maybe camber bolts for a touch more camber, but good setup will improve it more than anything else.

Sachs are good, but a decent coilover would be just as good, and probably cheaper! No real need to go for anything IMO. My own Clio only has cup wishbones, camber bolts, Polybushed ARB and a decent setup.

so cup wishbones are different to non cup but work with standard hubs/driveshafts ok? saw that you can buy wishbones with new bushes/ball joints for around £60. that might go on my to do list

Yep, Depending how low your car is, you might have some minor rubbing issues on the front arch liner/bumper bracket, but easily solved. Mine is quite low and has 30mm spacers and has rubbed everything away after a few months lol.

182 cup/cup packed/Trophy all share the same hub afaik and do indeed run a larger bearing. The 60mm bit your thinking of is the bolt spacing for the front shock absorber mounting to the hub.

Cheers,
are the rear hubs different at all? or the same on all 4 noncup/cuppack/cup/trophy?
