its renewal time and ive been quoted some farcical figures! but phil from HIC sorted it all out for me! he undercut the majority of qoutes by SIX HUNDRED QUID!!!

if you want to make the same sorta savings i did and have the same 4 foot wide grin give his private number a bell on 01279719932!!

or ring HIC and ask for phil!!

sound bloke indeed! no other company could come close and believe me i tried hundreds! im very indignant when insurers bleed me drive cos of my age and car!i drive it safely and responsibly and thrash it only wen conditions allow!i take offence at bein pidgeon-holed with dickhead boy racers who endanger themselves and others!i also believe us younger drivers, while lacking experiance, are better drivers due to the fact that weve read our highway codes in the last twenty years!it changes all the time and updating yourself is important! i believe theory tests should be bi-annual and that would keep old codgers off our roads so they cant pull out in front of us and claim they never saw us etc etc

Glad you got it sorted. I just hope you dont have to make a claim. Your insurance will actually be through Highway and they are sh*te!! trust me. HIC are just a broker and only deal with Highway.

yeah, highway are the underwriters for my existing policy so i thort that would be the case!

have you heard a lot of horror stories bout them?!

just my personal battle with them.

someone hit me head on Aug 15th (not my fault)

numerous phonecalls, they say theyll phone back and never do.

put you on hold for ages.

Had a settlement figure for £1.2k car was insured at £2k

Sent them proof for cars value, (they lost it) didnt bother phoning me to say they lost it!! Sent more proof.

Finally got a cheque on monday 24th Nov for £1950.



and the salvage yard where my car was taken ask who the insurance comp was. when I said Highway, his reply was Good Luck!!

And their still holding 3 yrs NCB hostage till its all sorted out.



Ive had dealings with Directline and the claim was sorted and cheque in my bank within 1 week!!! (£9k claim)

its appaling isnt it! i feel for you! wot do we pay these extortionate rates for! as the victim your meant to be looked after and you obviously havent!i think the sooner an authoritive body shakes it all up the better as discussed in the other post on insurance!

im no leftie t.u. supporting bring back old labour chanting softie! but this is one example where capitalism has failed us!

Felix, its a fact younger drivers are the worst, no getting round that one!

norfolk minis, highway are useless, really bad-thats a good increase youve had from them, they do tend to suspend NCD until the TP claim is sorted out though. sh*tter i know.

Looks like Im not the only one then. Ive had to renew with them for my new car, because of the suspended NCB. but seriously thinking of canceling the policy when their returned. I know Ill loose out but the customer service is crap!!

Felix, I hope you were talking about my experience last week. This happened to me and the fuzz didnt ask the old boy for an eyesight test.
