chipping a dci 100?

  Italian 3.2 V6
hey..

anyone here chipped a mk2 dci... preferebly the mk2 dci 100??

thinking of buying one this year, since it seems to be the best option money wise but will still have abit of "umph" in it... when chipped it should be the quickest mk2 clio before the 172/182...i am not 100%? (according to ktecs stats it should give around 126 PS and 250 NM) plus with some slight mods, i.e lowerd, colour coded and alloys should look and go quite decently i would guess...

just wounderd what your opinions would be, plus if anyone has actually chipped a dci, does it make a huge diff ( i have never been in a car thats then chipped to feel the diff?) just going off the stats..

thanks

It does indeed make a huge difference.

Opens the power band around 4k up so much and gives a load more torque throughout.

Only problem with the 100's is the gearbox they use is worse than the JC5.

lol, very nice :D... what can be done to make the gearbox bullet proof from chipping it? im guessing you have chipped your dci and come accross a problem... hense your pic lol.. what problems did you come accross and how did u resolve them?

Nothing can be done to the gearbox that's been done before afaik, I have a DCI80 with the JC5 box (better of 2 shitters).

If you don't hammer the gears or hump the throttle on and off too hard then I can't imagine many problems arising (but then why get it mapped...).

If you've not already bought the car, I'd advice a DCI80 over 100. With a map the 80 is still 110bhp+ (apparently) but it should be tougher.

Only problem I had was with the glow plugs, but then there was evidence to suggest they were on their way out anyway.
