Done Goodwood yesterday, have been going up there since i was about 12 with my dad and always wanted to do it. So i bit the bullet and handed over the £265. Was worth every penny, it is such a demanding circuit and requires a lot of concentration. I was truly knackered at the end of it all. Was all very well organised and there were instructors ready to help throughout the day.

So arrived at 7.45 to be noise tested (85db) Then at 8.30 we were all sat in the briefing room with a cuppa. Briefing was about half an hour then the first session was at 9.00. The track was very damp and greasy so I went out on the first session with 4 others very cautiously. Made my way round steady getting to know the track. After a few laps I felt confident so started to push on a bit, Caught up to a Carrera 4s on lavant corner so he kindly let me pass on the straight. Got a few more laps in and then caught a Kawasaki Green caterham that was going very slow through lavant, on the exit he indicated left and dived straight on to the grass. Later found out he hit a board and bits of his nose broke, nothing he couldn't fix with duck tape though ! On the next lap I was pushing a bit too hard in to lavant and panicked so stupidly lifted sending the back out a touch too much for me to catch it, not a massive incident but I ended up facing the infield with a wheel on the grass. Got red flagged and back to the pits, one of the instructors came over to have word, he was really nice about it and asked how it happened so I explained what I did, he warned me about the conditions and to just be a bit more careful next time.

Went back to he pits to check over the car, all was good. One of my mates then turned up so got him signed on and took him out for a couple of more sessions, the track was slowly starting to dry out and was able to go a bit quicker. Caught a few cars up that all let me pass them, one guy I caught in a Mini cooper s at St.Mary's that I was behind until lavant with another Carrera the mini let me pass and as I passed him I let the Carrera pass me. After the pit straight I was on the back of the Carrera up through Fordwater and in to St.Marys, going down the dip between St.Marys and Lavant I had a bit of a moment so backed off the Porsche and carried on at a reasonable pace. Did a couple more sessions then came in for lunch.

My dad then turned up for a spin and also to grab a couple of photos. The track had pretty much dried out by about 2.00 and i was taking a few of the corners faster especially Fordwater. At the start of the day i was taking it at about 90-95 toward the end i was going about 105-110, coming up to St.Marys I was doing about 115 in 4th. With this and also being able to do about 90 in 3rd I can only assume the car is mapped ? Down the back straight I was doing about the same 110-115. A couple more fiends turned up so took them out and at about 3.45 with not a lot of fuel left I came in for the final time. I did 121 miles in total averaging about 17.5 MPG.

Was an excellent day all in all, the AD08's will need swapping about on the rims but there is still a couple more days left in them :) Will difinatly be doing Goodwood again next year. Up next for the car is a bucket seat, 99% sure il go for a Bimarco Futura and try and fit it to the Clio runners, Have been speaking to a few people on here how its done and all looks quite straight forward. Also will try my best to get rid of the the A/C over the winter :)

If you want a hand with the AC delete mate, pop over and I will show you how I did mine - just need an idler & belt (I know the part numbers and can get them from my work - CPA in town). Cost about £45.

Glad I did mine!

Got a few goddies a couple of weeks ago on a nother member:

2 Cobra x-low subframes
2 Cobra Harnesses
Cobra Sidemounts
1 Slider

After all that I ordered a Bimarco Futura that arrived this week.

Had ago today trying to fit it all together and also stripping out the back of the car. Obviously being Cobra the sidemounts and subframe bolt together but with the seat on it's too wide for the subframe, so thankfully i have some OMP sidemounts that with a bit of modification will fit all nicely together :) Came to strip the back out and one of the isofix bolts head sheared off ! So after an hour of trying to get it out i gave up. Will instead drill a hole and fit the eye bolts with spreader plates and bolt it from underneath.

Anyone know where to get some high tensile bolts and eye bolts ?

The car hadn't been washed since Goodwood so today I gave the quick once over with a sponge. It was quite dirty.

Looking great as ever. Goodwood sounded fun always tempted to get on track these too just never managed to yet always something comes up.

Only just seen your thread mate, car looks great love the look of it, I love standard titanium ph1s but the f1s in matt black look amazing & work well with the black ph1 side trims, good work :approve:

Good write up on Goodwood. Love the car, i've sent you a PM with a pic of what gets removed when going to a cup alternator set up.

Love the car.

Went to Surrey Rolling Road today to see how much power the Ph1 had, Came back as a healthy 169.9 BHP. Charlie and Danny both said it was a healthy figure for a near standard 172 so im pleased.

Also last weekend as the weather was ok I washed and sealed the car and also put the ditch finder set of wheels on. Gonna get some new rubber for them soon as they are horrible in the wet :(

Never did paint the rear. So before Christmas I gave the x-low to a fabricator to knock a replica up for Fletcher. Wednesday I picked the original and the replica, made sure the replica would fit and give it back to get welded up. Then Thursday I got home early from work and decided to at least get the original seat out and the subframe in. Made such good time I was able to fit it all in on Thursday night all by my self ! Finished it off at about 6pm with only using my iphone as a light, so no pics of it being fitted :(

Then last night went out with Fletcher, Pete and Tim for some food and had my first drive in it. Its tight for me so il have to shed some pounds but other than that its lovely. Noticed I was a bit too far from the gear stick so today I dropped it down a notch on the side mounts and also moved it forward. As you will see the wheel is too big so am on the look for a small deep dish wheel. Also fitted the CD player back in :) You just have to climb into the boot and reach under the seat to change a cartridge :p

There about the same height as the standard seats which doesn't really bother me as I used some sidemounts i had lying around that cost me nothing, i might get the actual Bimarco ones but il see what its like first. Will get a passenger seat later in the year.

Looks good Chris, seats were nice to sit in last night. Did you hear the pops and bangs my R26 made leaving the car park?

How come the changer isn't under the passenger seat?
