Clio 1.2 16v??

After my partners car getting wrote off we are looking for a new car.

Due to the miles i do for work now she is using my Cup every day now and im gonna be using something cheap.

We are off to look at a 1.2 16v Dynamique tomorrow on a 51 plate.

Are there any problems with these little engines i should be aware off??

The ecu block cover wobbles about and wears through the wiring causing all sorts of problems.

Oil likes to get into the inlet manifold, which can cause poor running and even stalling. Although its pretty easy to clean up (http://sandpit.no-ip.com/clio/). Oil cap can get filled with that dreaded mayonnaise type substance but its pretty common on these engines, go for a good drive and it'll clear up. Iv had a few electrical issues with mine, more so to do with the immobiliser.

Other than a few niggles its a pretty reliable engine not had any major issues with mine apart from the above which are easily fixed.

I ragged the s**t out of mine and eventually blew up the gearbox, but it took a lot of punishment to get there.
