is it a ph1 16v?
If so i wouldnt risk driving it as its got the bendix abs system, which has no fail-safe device built in, so your doing the country lane grand prix and coming to a sharp corner, and your brake pedal go straight to the floor, get rid of the abs and have non abs system stuck on it, trust me, its for the best.

so how do i make it none abs ?
It's 1995 N reg.
It only comes on and off when it feels like.
Just done a 15 mile run and it never came on once.

must be a common fault or just a loose sensor.
Just wasted £10 worth of petrol driving about and it never lit up once.

yea, the ph2 16v are bosch, but the j reg, and very early k reg had bendix.

My ABS light in my MK2 172 has been on for the last week, in fact its the ABS/SERV and ESP light which are lit. But as its all interconnected im guessing something is f00ked in one of my frontal ABS sensors.
Might try disconnecting my battery for a half hour and seeing if that resets the ECU fault as currently ABS/ESP is not working, but manual braking it fine.
Anybody know if disconnecting my battery will mean ill need to reprogramme my alarm code and my radio code?
