The MK1 172 airbox is different to the Mk2 172 and 182 airbox. The Mk1 airbox is a cylinder shape.

they are different in standard form, BUT cant see why it wont fit with some jiggery, brackets and mounts will be different mind. Also if its to sell, a potential buyer might realise?

The airbox will fit. It may require a phase 2/182 inlet elbow as they don't kick back in the same way a phase 1 item does. The relevant mountings may not be present either.

I personally would sell the phase 2/182 airbox and find a phase 1 item as it is a better design. I have a phase 1 item on my phase 2 and have noticed a big difference in pick up and mid-range.
