Clio 182 Cup rear suspension issue

  Clio 182
When driving with just two in the front I have no issues, however when car is loaded with four people , ie two front two back the lhs rear corner seams to bottom out a lot, resulting in a fairly loud clonk or knocking as if the suspension is bottoming out. Rear springs arent snapped and can't see any leaks on the shocks. Any ideas welcome.

I think your near-side rear shock absorber (damper) is likely to be at fault.

As you'll probably be aware the rear shocks are prone to failure, much more-so than any other car I've owned anyway. You say no leaks, but in some cases where leaks have gone un-noticed for many months they dont appear to be leaking anymore, but gas pressure on the cup shocks is also lost. A symptom of a VERY worn shock like that can be a reduced travel, which combined with less damping force makes it bottom out with a loud "clunk" even under normal use.

Thats my experience anyway, I'm on my fourth set in three years! :(
