Clio B ECU protocols and pin outs.

Ok does anyone know what protocol renault use? (mk2172)

Eg: Iso, scp, keyword2000 etc

Oh and does anyone know or have a wiring diagram for the mk2 172?

I need to know what each pin does on the pcm.

(Oh and if anybody has any documents relating to the clip i would be very grateful)

these do wiring diagrams, for there SMT6 though, but it might help you figure out what some stuff is. couldnt find any other diagram stuff for the 172.

we no longer refer to them as ecus, as you know there are a few ecus on the car nowdays

jay do you have any documentation on the clip?

the clip is basically a laptop but you need an additional can network box to communicate with the computers on the vehicle.this can box is only avaliable from renault and is very pricey.i can get the diagnostic pin locations and what they do but without the can box you wont be able to communicate with any of the vehicle systems.however you only need the can box for vehicles from about 2000 apart from laguna 2 where you always need it.all vehicles before this if you get the clip software and make a lead that will plug into the diagnostic socket then you could communicate with the vehicle computers. what info do you need anyway?

i dont need the clip i have my own box.

renault use can? cool that makes life easier.

will have to check the pin locations.the can box is needed due to the multiplex network.do you have a can box then? you can load the clip program onto any laptop.

looks exspensive.ive got a clip program its just the can box between the laptop and the diag socket that i need now to communicate with newer vehicles.it works on older vehicles as the can box isnt reqd.will check the pin locations for you.
