And what discount do we recon renault dealers will give?
10% % ??
i mean people are squeezing As much as 12% off a new 135i....

Mmmm 135i

I wonder why they arent offering 0% on the RS range. Maybe they think they'll generate enough interest?

I got 0% over 4 years with no minimal deposit on my 200

I was really pissed because no more Brembo's as standard, but now I can clearly see why...

The extra power will be kept in check by a lowered and stiffened suspension setup and upgraded Brembo brakes on all four corners. Recaro bucket seats and a blue and white paint job that harks back to Gordini's heyday will likely be part of the package.

Looks like we'll have softcore and hardcore versions of hothatches these days. I'm guessing the same for Fiesta RS and Peugeout 208 RC.
RS, GTi and ST badges are going to be reserved for pumped up, top of class A to B cars with full equipment for daily use and ocasional track days if u want. Gordini and co. will be for time attacking :)

I imagine it would be pretty difficult to place Fiesta RS in the range. They'd sell way more of Focus RS, and if they are able to sell that in the US this time around...

I was surprised by this:

I'd have thought it'd be much closer than that. Still, at least the 4RS is good at traffic light GP's I suppose.

Did many find their way their way to the US via import?

I'm suprised they never sold it there given the Ford following!

Dunno really. I watched a Jay Leno video recently which suggested they're allowed in the country for a certain number of days only, before you have to ship them out again. I'm not sure how accurate that is, and it almost certainly differs from state to state? In any case, given that the MkIII Focus ST is saleable in the US, it seems logical that a future RS model would follow suit. If that's the case then Ford won't be able to make enough of the things. I also it hope it means that economies of scale mean the car could be even more special.

Funny thing about that drag race vid is that the old 200 looses most its time on gear changes...Who'd a thunk it eh!

Yes but that video doesn't show them stopping. The Clio 3 driver used engine braking by smashing back into first gear and dumping the clutch like a hero.

Not surprised the 4 is faster, but I am surprised at the gap, especially when pausing the vid on the speedo @ circa 100kph it's a fair lead. Considering very little separates them 0-60 (6.9 for the 200 vs a claimed 6.7 for the 4).

Lots of variable in there as well, undoubtedly it goes more than well enough though. Stick it through some corners and see who has the most fun :)

Local Renault dealer is letting me know when they've got their demo in in June. Unfortunately he told me it was in "Liquid Gold" and they're a Renault sport specialist!

Also Missus' uncle works at Ford and when they have one in for longer than 24 hours he's letting me have a go in a Fiesta ST so will be good to compare.

Also Renault and Ford are opposite each other in my town so hopefully back to back comparison

Well found out I can get one for £13,995 with cup pack.

That's only £200ish less than list price one VAT is removed.

Hmmmm

I'm assuming the Chris Harris video has been posted. I'm starting to like it even more!

Wouldn't buy it mind, lol.

Surely that would give it the edge on the take off then compared to the 3.. Thought you could hear the exhaust gargling and popping before it shot off

Quite dislike that interior!

seems Renault decided to designs the looks of this car whilst being blindfolded!

What a poorly executed document! It was really clever to use the Spider text twice – once accompanying the actual car and once accompanying the Clio 182 Trophy.
Not one picture showing 200T with standard wheels – I know it won't look good, but even so...
And what's that comical pedal layout shown in the 200T section:clown:
Even still refers to the 200 with Perfohub suspension:S – You can't get the staff, etc.

I was looking for a used 197 or 200, possibly a very low mileage Trophy as a daily, but might wait to see what this car turns out to be like. Its definitely growing on me. Might make an ideal commuting car. Like that cup spoiler too. Wouldn't have it on a road car though i dont think, would look a bit too barry boy for my liking. Not really into big spoilers on cars.

Not sure if serious? If you are

I definitely am...will be visiting a dealer this weekend to hopefully work something out...but I can't decide on colour, almost hourly I cycle through them all (except LY) as being my favorite, the one I'm going to order, then promptly change my mind. Grrrr.

I have never ever bought a brand new car. I think this is going to be my first. I love everything about it, its not trying to look like a race car so the mrs and I can turn up places without feeling slightly ashamed, if i feel brace enough it looks a hoot on track, and with a remap in the future it should remain interesting to me. I honestly cant wait to test drive it.
