Clio TT v Supra

the clio..

twice!

not sure on times... was very wet today though

a different supra was fishtailing and clipped the barrier!

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

That supra was feckin sh*t...think the tt only ran a 15.5 on that run but was still wheelspinning over the line in 4th!!

Thats at york too:eek: Werent he hoping for an undisputed 13 sec run??

Nick Reids beasty is still the quickest clio then?

  Nippy white cup

Aye only 15.5 but at something daft like 106 mph. Was a real shame that the weather was so bad as it wasnt too busy (but probably the rain put people off!)

"thats at york too" ever the expert mitchy at something he has never even done before afaik, if its wet and muddy you can kiss goodbye to a good time. as for york and pod any difference is weather dependant. yes i have been to both

Im no expert but if i was wanting an undisputed 1/4 mile time i would be visiting santapod in front of the other 2 venues.

York and santa pod times do seem to differ. There is lots of evidence around various car forums that cars run slower at pod than they do at york or crail.

The above is just your opinion craggy and there are tonnes of people who will disagree with your opinion. I have read lots of threads stating that there is a difference. Run at pod and no-one can dispute, is what i believe.

Not at all Guy!

I just think from reading tonnes of threads on various car forums that santapod is indeed slower than the other 2 venues. Nothing wrong with having an opinion is there? If i ever go 1/4 miling it will be at santpod so numptys like me cant dispute it;):D

I dont suppose you ran 14.7 @ york:D;)

I knew it would be the people who stand by there york times who argue the case;) A 14.2 @ York is easily a 14.5 @ pod isnt it Chris:D

Go to pod and get a real run done;)

ive only ever run at pod once and it was like driving on ice.

but that was in the winter

maybe its more grippy in the summer

never really had a traction problem at york apart from when it rained.

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

iv run many times at both venues. over 2 weeks i did both, and run 14.3@pod and 14.4@york.

2 weeks later went to york again, but the conditions were absolutely ideal, thats when i ran 3 x 14.1s, all with a 5th change just before the line.

york IMO has a much better start line surface and you can choose between 2 types of surface too. pod is too slippy, york is like a normal road surface!

Eh those times are impossible Craig...the time is quicker at the pod?! ;)

And if the Pod is sooo good why is the start line traction so much better at York? I would love to run at the pod but I aint travelling all that way just to sit in a huge queue and get two runs. Probably better times at york because you get more runs and get better at it.

Well ladies when I left today Matt was running 14.1 and he was still running, which is a fookin good time for you bitches who didnt venture out from your keyboards, to experience it for yourselves.

The only boys getting good time today were the 4wd cars

Check the pic my car was clean when it went it to York, shows how sh*tty and muddy it was, plus a blantent chance to put up a pic of my car

13.8 @ 110mph was my best on road tyres ( to wet for slicks ) - the track was wet and muddy and i was spinning in 1st / 2nd / 3rd and got traction in 4th.

I have 100% confidence in knowing i will see 115 in the 12s this year..............easy ( in the dry !! - lol )

Good time with a nice terminal.:D

That would put 100 at around the 11.5-12sec mark:D

I know this may sound stupid, but have you tried for experiments sake 1st-2nd-4th? Or 1st-3rd-4th??

Someone tried it on seatcupra.net and with the low down torque of the 1.8t it did make a difference. It was a 40-100 run only done in 4th gear as opposed to using 2nd/3rd and 4th. It was around 0.8-1sec quicker than using all 3 gears. It may be worth a shot as traction in 2nd/3rd is troubling you.

j3ned, does your box require you to go into 5th gear to finish the 1/4 or can you do it at the tail end of 4th?

OMG m8 thats rapid. I heard that Jon couldnt even get into the 14s it was that wet and muddy, at LEAST 1 second slower down the strip than he would normally be. That should get into the 12s easy... all hail the fastest Clio in the club... wonder whats Nicks gonna plan to beat it now!
