Christ! There making some serious profit there! Sounds like they all try to rip you off. I had a quote once from Renault in Exeter Devon. Full service inc new front disks £550! Got it done at a garage who has a very highly qualified mechanic. Total cost inc parts and labour £180 (exactly the same service, parts etc as Exeter!).

Haha! Ill beat you all - and ive only had the car since Febuary!!! (costs are approx and includes labour)

Engine reconditioning > £2000, Alternator > £327, Cooling System > £130, PBV > £80, K&N > £70, Ecotek > £60, BBPT Stainless Decat Zorst > £300, New Discs and Pads all round > £400, Central Locking System > £120, New Alloys and Tyres > £700, Cams > £150, ECU and Chip > £200, Bearings and one hub > £400, New Springs and shocks > £200, Power Steering Rack and balljoints, trackrods etc > £700

Emmm....there is various bit n bobs that ive forgotten but it amounts to round about 6k!! Needless to say, i live on beans and have no girlfriend :(. None of the garages up here (Aberdeen) seem to want anything to do with a valver and ive even been told by one garage that they dont want to see me again! Perhaps Cliosport should have an award for the most unlucky owner....

Hmm my major service recently cost me £400 including parts needed - I have paid out a total of £900 since I bought the car in Feb. I gave it 2 months after the last big bill - 1 month up and nothing wrong - 1 more to go, if nothing else goes wrong it stays - if not it goes.

Cable: £12.49

Labour: £52.01

I really should learn how to do this stuff

Renault quoted me £36 for a Fog light and £50 to fit it - I was told its difficult to do. I said nah, leave it - when I got home I took the old one out and put it back in 2 or 3 mins - robbing barstewards!

  Audi S3

cuz i remember them trying to charge me that for an hours diagnostic work i didnt ask for... i soon told them where they can shove that charge...

  ExigeV6|Q5|DS3|Fiat

I wouldnt want to list all my costs.

Probably in 5 years of ownership - £4/5k includes £1200 for new gear box!

  Trophy

My old red one has reciepts for over £8,000, this was when i sold it to Adi, so must have a bit more now!

Still, small price to pay for the fastest 16v;)

You save a fortune if you tackle some of these jobs yourself, they are hellish annoying cars to work on, I am removing the engine on mine the now, and spent 45mins punching the drive shaft roll pins out last night, pain in the arse, and it is exactely because of wee time consuming probs like this that cause horrific garage bills for anything on valvers, loads of garages just cant be arsed with them. However other than being a really tight fit, there is nothing too hellish about working on these engines as such. Radiators and alternators are not as bad as they sound and should only really take an hour or so in garage charges. I am sure garage overcharge for a lot of jobs on these cars.

definately get a manual for this, youll save yourself a whole lot of time+ money, they are pretty good and you can always compare with the photos to see if your doing it right,

one thing though, a one spanner job (the easiest) never ever is they always seem to take forever, as often the bit you want to get at is hidden, so you have to dismantle loads of the car !
