Crazy alarm idea I had...

  GW RS200
...so i got thinking after that guy had his clio craned onto a lorry and off his drive. Why not put something dangly hooked over the rear view mirror, such as a CD or something. Then u have a home made tilt device; if car is lifted by crane, object swings and sets off alarm!! Brilliant eh?!

erm didnt all the old alarms come with this ,

nowadays its a bit more safisticated tilt technology

Why would that be different to if you parked flat?

Sorry was reading it right. Though he meant have a switch on a tilt sensor (which would go off if parked on a tilt). Surely a moving CD wouldn't set the alarm off as it's an Infra Red/Shock sensor...??

They do have tilt sensors, but cars don't tilt if picked up correctly :(

Makes you wonder doesn't it!

I read somewhere (might have been on here) that some bloke had his Evo nicked by putting the car and some sort of roller skates and pushing it onto a low loader!

At the end of it, if someone wants your car that bad, they'll get it :dapprove:

That's why we pay so much on insurance. :dead:

no one knows how evo_gones evo was stolen

the roller skates (actually called go jacks) were a suggestion of mine in the thread about it as to a potential possibility of moving the car out of the mega tight parking space, and down the cramped single track street without causing any disturbance..

As i understand it, the ultrasonic sensors in our cars react on changes in the air (pressure / turbulance) so you would need something substansial enough to make a change.

Ive got a nice Cobra tilt/motion sensor. It always scares the crap out of me when i jack the car up. lol

You could always buy a big crane truck and crane it over the top of your house and into the back garden every night.

Or build a casino vault on your driveway and lock it in that every night?

Theres a car park think it mite be in London, not to sure. Anyway they have movement sensors under the car so the alarm goes off with any movement - not a bad idea.

That'll be Parksafe in Derby - great place, always park mine in there, and is apparently one of the 10 most secure places on earth, so might just do for the clio:approve:!!!

I think that was EvoGone on this forum. It was crazy the space it was taken from.

My car alarm went off today when I left the windows open a notch. Stupid sensors are over sensitive. I suppose thats a good thing.

Oh my God, it's a dream car park!?? Motion sensors under the cars, soft barriers? Do they PC your car while you're shopping?

I like the idea of a sensor on the drive though :)

motorbikers put an anchors in the floor to put their locking chain too, might be an idea for us drivers also? could always try the funky thing some bloke did in (dare i say it) Max power. he got thumbprint scanners and a retina scan for £300 and if he's not printed and scanned the car doesn't start...

Just go out and buy a Viper alarm. It has been the best £500 I have spent on my car.;)

Thats a waste of money on your car, its not in demand.

If you know that they can't get a crane near it then a telescopic security post might not be a bad idea. But you'd have to anchor it like hell, to avoid that nasty surprise of a missing car and a missing security post.
